School of choice should never be up to anyone but the students and his or her parents. Smith Voc is an excellent trade school and students of tax payers should be allowed to choose which trade they want to learn and where they want to learn in.

I'm a Smith Voc alumni and what the Superintendent is doing is absolute crap! We can debate sending them to Smith vs C-tech if the chose a shop c-tech doesn't offer but what right does she think she has to tell our children they cannot chose a shop at Smith that C-tech DOESN'T OFFER???

Trade schools are the best for our kids. Need more of them and we would not be in our current situation of them 'forgiving student debt'.

One of my sons & my daughter are alumni of Smith Voc. My granddaughter graduated last year from from the plumbing program. Even my mother is was a grad from Smith Voc when they offered the Nursing Program! This is a far superior school than CTec. As a Easthampton tax payer I want every child in our town to have the choice of going to Smith Voc! I believe in their education over many other choices this town government has made.

My daughter and niece are Smith alumni, who got wonderful educations, my stepson got his vocational education at CTech… there is a very big difference and I was very disappointed in the situation I wanted him at Smith but he had no choice due to his educational path.

Smith God is the best vocational school in the area and I agree that with school of choice, any and all students MUST be allowed to attend. CTech has lost a lot of instructors which makes it not the best choice for students.

I wouldn’t be where I am today, without being able to attend Smith Vocational, while living in Easthampton.
As a parent, teacher and resident of easthampton, I strongly urge everyone to sign. Kids need more than 2.5 hours of shop time. How will we have great workers when they are shown it’s ok to NOT get a job because their city carts them around and doesn’t allow for co-op jobs / industry training?!

My 2 sons along with my grandsons went to Smith Folk to learn a trade.
We do need more plumbers, electricians, carpenters.
NOT EVERYONE IS COLLEGE MATERIAL
