I live in Spring Garden and I am also a real estate agent, who is actively selling homes throughout York County. With the number of sports facilities available to the public - several in our township - there is absolutely no reason to spend money that does not exist to build another one. The facilities that exist now are usually not full. To me, it feels like the township wants to show off - "look what we have that another township does not" - and to do that and charge every owner to support that is a crime! I know how hard it is to get buyers loans now when you figure in the taxes. If we create higher taxes, it will be even more difficult to qualify home buyers. It will make Spring Garden Township one of those areas that buyers say they want to avoid purchasing in because of the high taxes! So, you are not only making it a hardship for many homeowners to pay higher taxes but you are creating an environment where owners may not be able to sell their homes - OR - will be forced to reduce the sales price in order to make it appealing to a buyer. This will create financial hardship for many of the township residents and for something that is definitely unnecessary!

We are a young family with two children that already struggle to get by week to week. Dramatically increasing our taxes could very easily sink us.

I am a senior citizen and could not afford this. I am on a VERY limited budget, and this will cause me to move for sure. I am nearing that now. That is the problem, you keep raising taxes and we seniors have to move because we cannot afford to live here anymore.

I can barely afford present taxes. If they increase you may as well just take my house. This project is totally outrageous.

Taxes are already high enough , this will make it even harder for seniors with a fixed income to stay in their homes!!!

We can not afford to pay any more
We cannot afford to pay any higher taxes. This big complex is not needed. Way over half of our residents are over sixty. Most of us our on social security. I know the police and fire company need a new building. Saying that what will happen to the rental units. Will the landlord have to pay for the rise in taxes and will he pass this onto the tenants. Our Township will become a ghost town people will have to be selling their home they lived in for years and move to a Township that has not taken on this Burden. So we vote no to this proposal.

Waste of tax payer money. The Police Department does need some help, but not to the tune of $ 20,000,000.

If this project is so important, find a way to do it with existing money. We all have to make decisions with our money. The government should do the same. Raising taxes for a project no one is looking for is just wasteful and stupid.

This is unacceptable. We are retired and have NO interest in our taxes being doubled for this (or any reason)

This is not acceptable!! Why should we spend our tax dollars on something that won't really help anyone. We should be using the money for helping the needy not spoiling the rich!!

I do not approve this complex! It is irresponsible to use our tax dollars for luxury expenditures! Meanwhile, snow plows are slow to take care of some areas in the neighborhood, or only doing one side, roads with multiple potholes not taken care of, and school and property taxes have raised almost every year since I lived here with no apparent improvements to the neighborhood. We can not afford this constant rise in costs to live here as it is!

The township needs to look at other lower cost alternatives . They can not expect the tax payers to keep paying more. Many people are living paycheck to paycheck.
