The dress code is extremely sexist. It basically only applies to girls, and when boys aren't dress code, which doesn't happen very often at all, they don't even get dress coded, whereas girls get dress coded every single day. It's simply unfair, and if the school still wants to keep it, they might as well add more things that apply to boys.

The dress code doesn't permit leggings worn without fingertip length skirts or dresses. It also doesn't allow tank tops with straps thinner than four inches wide. The punishment for disobeying the dress code is having to wear your gym uniform for the rest of the day.

This school is only enforcing rape culture, whereas girls are blamed for men's actions. As if a girls bra strap could ask for rape let alone cause a kids math grade to drop.

I do not attend Alice Deal Middle School but I believe every person has a right to express themselves.

I mean, I defy the dress code every day, but I do think that there should be a day each week/month where everyone does. As they say, there is power in numbers!

Of course you can comment- do you see how many other people did? But I agree with you. Wearing what you want helps boost confidence, and that would be a good idea.

IDK if I have the authority to write this on someone else's petition, and forgive me if I don't, but I think there should be a specific day each month or so when all girls defy the dress code in some way.
