We do not need anymore housing in Glendale. STOP ALLOWING THE BUILDING!!!!

We are already overbuilt near DT and there is just no need for more huge building in our city, especially in that neighborhood

Enough of these giant complexes in our city! Enough traffic!

Stop over building downtown Glendale

We don't need another massive bank of apartments to further strain City resources.

Traffic and parking in that area are already adding to the aggressive nature of Glendale life.

Please stop overdevelopment in our city! Enough is enough!

Stop over building in Glendale! That includes demolishing our GUSD Jackson building for a monstrosity residence as well as putting a museum in the only green space we have left in central Glendale!

GUSD and the city need to make a better solution for their headquarters, and this land usage. Selling it to lose this space and cause a lot trouble and create more problems is Not equitable for any body except the developer.

I am a nearby property owner and object to the lack of transparency about this project.

I totally agree with the comments objecting the proposed construction in that small area, where even per original zoning such monstrosities should not be built. Seeing that Glendale City Council members supported Glendale Health Festival this weekend (arranged by AAMS), hoping that they really care about the health of the community, they should not approve the proposed construction project. Timely medical access will almost be impossible related to heavy traffic in those narrow streets. When there is a blockage of major brain or heart vessel, causing stroke or heart arrest respectively, even with a timely medical care including resuscitation within 4 minutes, the chance of survival needing temporary or permanent artificial life support is almost 1 in 5 people (20%), the chance that the patient will recover and be discharged from hospital is only almost 1 in 10 people (10%). If medical care is delayed by 10 minutes, the chance of survival and recovery is 0-2%, the patient will likely become brain dead. Looking at those numbers, it may not be relevant to some people, but if we realize that such deadly medical emergency can occur to any of us or our loved ones, those numbers are really meaningful. It is like an elephant in the room, that some people ignore. City Council members should not overlook huge health and safety related problem for the sake of profit from construction, a few low income apartments and a tiny park. There are many other ways to assist low income population and School District, not at the expense of community's health, safety and well being. Please reject the proposed construction project!!

Build the park. There is no park with playground in the area. There are a lot of apartments building in the area, but nowhere to play. I take my kids to bike at the GUSD parking lot; if it is sold - there will be no place for kids to bike. Build a park.

I strongly oppose the construction of that planned monstrosity. As it was mentioned in other comments, high population density bringing more than 200 residents with their families, heavy traffic congestion in those narrow streets is very concerning, being higher risk of motor vehicle accidents for local residents, school students, children, causing early disability and death. The proposed development will definitely prolong the time of paramedics' arrival during 911 calls, which can be very deadly if those calls are related to acute heart disease or stroke. During stroke, "time is brain", every minute stroke is left untreated, 1.9 million brain cells are destroyed, which can cause severe disability, coma or death. During heart attack or if heart stops beating, brain cells begin to die after 4 minutes of no blood flow, brain cells will be effectively dead after 10 minutes of no blood flow even if paramedics obtain pulse using medications and place breathing tube. Also, we should not only consider the time when EMS/911 arrives to evaluate patient, but also how soon patient is brought to nearest hospital, and how soon an ER physician is available to attend the patient. As Glendale population increases, there will inevitable delay in medical care, which can be life threatening/deadly. Traffic and construction pollution, asbestos exposure may cause lung cancer, which is the most deadly cancer, compared with all other cancers combined. The proposed planned construction is definitely unacceptable. City Council members should consider huge safety hazards as mentioned, dire consequences, serious health concerns and opposition of local Glendale residents that voted for them during election, rather than expected profit from construction planned by developers.

Dear friends, Your voice matters!! Please attend the final Council hearing on 11/20/18 at Glendale City Hall, 613 E Broadway Str., Glendale, CA 91206 We oppose the proposed construction by the developer in Glendale, particularly in the area of the School District. The construction of over 190 apartments will definitely worsen traffic, traffic related air pollution, noise, parking shortage. The pollution/asbestos exposure during the demolition of current old buildings/new construction is very high risk for worsening of asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, may cause serious deadly illnesses, including lung cancer, mesothelioma, irreversible lung scarring/ pulmonary fibrosis. It is very risky for the health of local residents, School students, children going to Methodist Church for day care being exposed. I hope that the City Council members do not approve the construction mentioned above, considering very high risks for health, the welfare and petitions of local residents and School students.

Proposing to build a new 5-story luxury apartment building is a RIDICULOUS idea. Traffic in the area is already insane and parking is a nightmare. I live on the corner of Wilson and Kenwood and I have witnessed MULTIPLE car accidents as well as pedestrians and bike riders being hit by cars in this intersection in just 3 years of living here. This proposed monstrosity will make traffic much worse and accidents more prevalent than they already are. The streets are not built to handle all of this traffic. And where are residents of the neighborhood expected to park once you start eliminating street parking to make room for tractors, cement trucks and other construction equipment? By eliminating the parking Alan Daily High School parking lot, where are members of the surrounding churches going to park on Sunday? Parking is already tough in Glendale - please do not make it worse. There is a police station on Isabel a few blocks east and this new building and all the congestion it will bring will no doubt delay police response times when they have to travel west on Wilson Ave. Also, I'm not a fan of all the asbestos, dirt and green house gasses that will be released into the air and into my home if construction is started. There is an outdoor child daycare facility, a school, and a senior living facility nearby and all of the emissions being released into the air will no doubt affect these groups. I think this is a highly irresponsible idea for the city of Glendale and will be a blow to affordable housing in the area. STOP putting profits before the health and safety of residents.
