Zendaya cannot portray Aaliyah. That is an insult to her and her legacy. And also, resect her families wishes. They do not agree with this movie.

very disrespectful and distasteful. i mean how old was this zendaya girl when she was even out ? i remember listening to her and this new lead child should step down respectfully if she wants to avoid negative press.

Aaliyah would want it this way. the right way with the ones she loved included & ok with it. family was everything to baby girl and I will respect that. i'm against this movie in ask shapes and forms. love & miss you baby girl. gone but not forgotten. p.s. zendaya is a naive and ignorant little girl who only wants to be Aaliyah. she has no respect for Aaliyah or her family. she can never be, potray, or embrace Aaliyah's life. like Rashaud said " none of the girls I've seen can potray my sister" I think he out of anyone would know.

They should respect the family as we'll the goal for tho should be 500k . Aaliyah fans need to come out and support this because respecting her wishes of no movie is what we should do. Rest the Ones that have gone on

I'm kinda hurt by all of it really just seeing what Our world has come too and lil respect we have in it now. I know most ppl felt aaliyah didn't do much or she this or that but too me she was a human much more than her clothing style and videos . She was a kind and humble woman who bought happiness whatever she went she has a great vibe that most of these artists don't posses today . And it's sad seeing ill respect this woman has these lil girls auditioning for her role and not thinking about her family it's sad . And I'm not trying to down grade zendaya I strongly just feel she having her way with Hollywood because of her looks I'm not questioning your singing ability or dancing abilities I'm sick and tired of everybody feeling that's why she deserve the role I feel anybody can mastered those things we live in a big world filled with so many talented ppl . Anybody can be taught how to dance anybody can Try to sing to me playing the role of Aaliyah never been about that it's about can you bring her character to life can you bring out the person she was . I just feel her family comes first yeah we know aaliyah artist wise but her family knows her person and I wouldn't won't to watch a movie if I didn't see the person she was first before fame . But for the most part I really want ppl to allow aaliyah to rest in peace if a movie come out or not I feel we still can find ways to honor her I don't think anybody will fall off the surface of earth if a movie is not out . I will just continue honoring her through her music and who she was as a person .

Please respect Aaliyah's mother, Mrs. Diane Haughton, and her brother, Rashad Haughton, wishes. It will be a disgrace to Aaliyah's legacy to go forward with this movie without the permission and support of her mother and brother. Furthermore, Lolita Price is her look alike and not Zendaya Coleman. R.I.P. Aaliyah Dana Haughton

Keshia Chante looks a lot more like her than Zendaya , also its rude that the role was just snatched from Keshia like that because she didnt do it because she was waiting for the family's permission

When I heard they were making a biopic of Aaliyah, I didn't fully agree on it. And THEN when I heard her family, especially her own mother AND Rashad, were not consulted or included in this, I was pissed! If they don't agree with it, I don't either! It's absolutely disrespectful to a family who is still grieving to move on forward and then NOT acknowledging the family OR the fans that a biopic was going to be made. It's absolutely hurtful, I don't agree with it. Aaliyah's death was absolutely tragic; she should be left in peace! Thank you!

Aaliyah was extremely successful and absolutely humble in every way. I don't know what is up with her Uncle, but I have no doubts he's made a lot of money off his own niece. But I know how it feels to lose a loved one, the grieving never stops, you relive those last moments, phone calls, and interactions for the rest of your life in the back of your mind. I can't even imagine how much pain Aaliyah's own mother had to go through when she lost her daughter in a tragic plane crash. Creating a biopic is one thing, but without the consent of the family who are still grieving, is just entirely disrespectful. Aaliyah is not here today to defend herself, as someone has mentioned earlier. Her family is still trying to come to terms with her death and that's something nobody will ever understand. We need to respect the family's wishes to put an end to this biopic. It's not OK to release this if the family is not OK with it, that means I'M not OK with it whatsoever.

Stop this biopic ! Teyana Taylor made a smart decision by not joining after finding out Aaliyah's family had nothing to do with it. I repeat don't air this biopic

I am disgusted that they would make a movie about her and not even tell the family! You would expect this type of ratchetness from VH1 but Lifetime? Then if a Aaliyah movie was made then it needs to be a big screen movie like the Biggie Smalls movie! and tat girl that they cast as Aaliyah she pretty but sorry she ain't no Aaliyah! Aaliyah was young but had a mature swagger that little girl will look like someone dressed her up to look like Aaliyah but sorry not buying it! Lifetime will tear her legacy and story up by making it into some dumb chick flick about what they want us to believe about her!!!! #Sad! #LifetimeYouShouldBeAshamed! #RespectHerLegacyAndFAMILY!

Aaliyah's family should be respected. This movie should not be made without their consent and involvement. It is just wrong, and more than likely, the story will be all wrong because nobody knows Aaliyah's life more than her own family. Have more respect for the dead.

Aaliyah was all about her family, friends, and definitely her fans! She believed without is she wouldn't be who she was and without her family she wouldn't have pushed for we dreams! I really don't see how anyone can go against the wishes of a grieving family...it doesn't matter how many years may go by, nothing can cure a loss! Yes as a fan I would love for them to make a movie BUT not if it isn't from those who knew her best and who loved her best!! She would've wanted it to come directly from her support system (Diane and rashad) respect is everything! We stand by you and your fam babygirl! S.I.P
