Aaliyah will always be my all time favorite icon she was so real and loved what she did . I wish people could respect her family and not just want to know her private life I think that's what lifetime is trying to do . As much as I would love to see a production I rather see a production that the family created and that was a actress whom truly can play her .

It hurts my heart to still see how they have to mourn her in such ways. The one time they weren't there she passes & many long years after she's gone they have to fight long battles simply because a life was taken over revenue. I simply can't support. :( my heart goes out to the Haughtons.

Aaliyah maybe gone but she will never be forgotten, it's not fair to anyone a fan or friend of Aaliyah, and of all people a 17 year old with no talent is going to play a beautiful " angel on earth " as DMX once said.

Aaliyah's uncle is a greedy, money hungry asshole who would do anything for a quick buck. Hence the reason why the Haughton's have been battling legalities since Aaliyah's passing, trying to obtain what he owns of her estate. He didn't even attend his own brother-in-law's funeral when he passed in November of 2012 because the Haughton's aren't on speaking terms with the Hankerson's and haven't been for years. Business is business, but when it comes to family...when does morale and ethics come into play? That shows and tells you all you need to know about her uncle Barry Hankerson. He doesn't give 2 shits about his own damn sister, let alone Aaliyah or even us as fans. FUCK him!

You do realize that you just signed this "bullshit" petition right? And the point of that was what? To say you don't agree with it? LMAO!

Exactly! I would love to see a biopic about Aaliyah, but not without the permission of her family!!

I agree I felt Keisha chante really wanted that role , praying and I liked the fact she respected Aaliyah family but I was really hoping Keshia chante would of at least gotten it.

She is mixed raced. Caucasian mother, Black father, she is Black and Caucasian. Aaliyah had two Black parents.

Her Name has been kept alive, and it has nothing do with a movie or not...it is because her Fans are the true meaning of what Fans should be.....

Do you know how that feels to lose somebody you really loved it hurts badly especially losing a daughter no one wants to bury their own child and that's the worst .and I can't imagine the pain her mothers feels for that . Aaliyah is very talented we all know that and would love to see who she was as a person but it's not right to know if her family is not involved . There are others way to hold her legacy and I feel it's wrong not to see her immediate family participate in it or friends so this petition is not bullshit but to me a great idea it's amazing seeing ppl fight for what they believe in and supporting her family before business . And if they don't won't this movie done ppl need to respect that and not think about themselves .

No one doesn't know what Aaliyah would of wanted because unfortunately . She's not alive to fight for herself or control what's going on but I think she would of been very proud to see that even after her death her fans got her back . And that we support her family all the way on not wanting an album release or an movie and especially played by someone who doesn't looked like at all like Aaliyah .

She died coming from an island which could be considered private so why would she want a film about her without her consent. I loved Aaliyah's music (maybe not her last movie so much) but why go against the family's wishes?

If this movie went on with out her family it wouldn't be her life at all they would say her name wrong and give a lot of wrong facts then it's not aaliyahs movie it's just a movie. As a fan I know that aaliyahs family has the right to not want this movie and as a fan I'm right beside them supporting their wishes

Thank you for understanding my comment. I wrote it. And what I meant was, her family wouldn't have wanted a movie to be made. This isn't right that they are making one. Thank you.

I would love for this movie to be made but I want it done in the right way. With the support of aaliyahs fans ,family and friends . We have been waiting for years for this movie, but there's a difference between putting out something because it can be done and doing what's best for aaliyahs memory. As her fans we gotta make sure any aaliyah movie is something aaliyah could be proud of and the only way that can happen is if her family agree and are a part of it

Yes I do and I know for a fact Aaliyah would not have wanted a movie made after her, Thank you.

I don't like this as all as a Aaliyah fan I won't watch it , that lil girl looks nothing like her Keshia Chanté do. And that's not far to her . Get somebody that looks like her first always tryna change the look of BLACK women She's BLACK. And get her family's permission I bet y'all won't get no damn black light skin girl to play Madonna if that granny passes

This is ridiculous. Leave the legacy as is. I still love Aaliyah, everyone still loves Aaliyah, I was just jammin' to her music this morning. No one even deserves to play the part, seriously, and the fact that it took 13 years for them to try and make it let's me know it's for the money, which makes me not even wanna watch it, as much as I love her.. it won't be her.

If you're going to do a movie about Aaliyah please chose someone beautiful like her. Zendaya isn't anywhere near as beautiful as Aaliyah.

Exactly Aaliyah was no public eye when she was alive so why bring this up. She loved her family we cant disrespect their wishes. She wanted people to notice her talent and that all. Doing music on her behave is one thing but making a movie isnt acceptable.
