For some little girl to even accept the role without the families approval just shows she has no integrity! How could you even get into a character without knowing the person you are playing through her family and friends. Another whack Disney kid trying to get famous and capitalize on fame through a truly talented and hard working person like Aaliyah!

I stand with Diane & Rashad Haughton. I'm personally not ready for a Aaliyah movie. The loss of Aaliyah is STILL so significant and raw with emotions.

NoAaliyahMovie I was really young when Aaliyah died but have always been a fan and always respected old artist . And when I found out about the movie and how zendaya was chosen I got upset by it . For many reason it's no hate but because zendaya is already in the lime light and being chosen was something her family should of have control of . Her family is hurt by her death and seeing ppl using this young beautiful late singer for money and their own benefit is horrible to me because If it's one thing I do it is respect artist as Aaliyah and Michael jackson and even the late whitney Houston and against using these artist for your own benefit and I think the movie shouldn't even talked about without her family . And ppl might be upset but Aaliyah wasn't just an artist she was an sister an daughter to those who was really hurt by her passing so i'am full support of this movie being stopped. R.i.P Aaliyah aka babygirl

Please respect her loving families wishes.. I feel knowing Aaliyah and how beautiful private and classy she was she wouldn't not want this film made.

I just find things like that pretty interesting .. When a person of color does something great they try to make us remember them as being white or close to it. Just like cleopatra and everything else.

This petition is straight bullshit, let them tell Aaliyahs story, no matter what they're going to make the movie regardless , calling all real Aaliyah fans, let this film go through, respect them wanting to keep baby girls name and legacy going

I def agree with Aaliyah's family... If they can't have a say so, then there shouldn't be no movie. And Zendaya is no fit for the role. She don't even know anything about Aaliyah.

I feel like they are definitely going about this the wrong way. The FIRST thing they should have done is sit Down with her family. Pitch the the idea to them and see what they could make happen. But I guess they knew the answer would be no. Then they have the nerve to cast someone who doesn't look remotely like Aaliyah? Zendaya is cute and I understand Aaliyah is her idol but NO. This movie shouldn't see the light of day.

Why Zendaya should not play Aaliyah on lifetime./ 1. Aaliyah is African American (black), Zendaya is not 2. The movie is “LIP SYNC”, It doesn't matter if Zendaya can sing or not. 3. Music Style opposite. Aaliyah Hip hop and Rnb, Zendaya “Trash” and pop. 4. On the movie The Temptations, they did not put Caucasian people to play the role 5. The new Jersey Boys movie 2014, you can not put an African American guy to play the role 6. A biopic is the story and life of a person, so the actor should somewhat resemble the person 7. Just because Zendaya post a picture with the same hair style and outfit Aaliyah rocked does not make her a good fit. 8. I want anyone who would like to do this, put a picture of yourself that resembles Aaliyah. If you have the outfit or hair style. I promise you Lifetime will find hundreds of people that could play the role as Aaliyah. 9. Remember on the biopic “TLC,” just as everyone thought, Keke palmer was not all that when it came to playing Chili. But the other actors did a wonderful job. 10. Why Zendaya out of millions of talented people 11. I know lifetime feels as if Fall is almost here, and the movie is on a crunch time. 12. Remember this Lifetime: Aaliyah is an Icon, singer, dancer, and beautiful lady. Her story should me told by someone who resembles her. Just as the story of The Jacksons/ Micheal Jackson was told. 13. Does appearance and color matter when it comes to this movie.... Yes. Stop trying to twist things to it comes in your favor. 14. Here are some biopics that actors actually resemble or followed the race of the roles they had to play. - THE MOVIE “SELENA” BY JENNIFER LOPEZ (THEY LOOK ALIKE) -Malcolm X by Denzel Washington -Johnny Cash: Walk the Line by Joaquin Phoenix -Ghandi by Ben Kingsley -Cleopatra by Elizabeth Taylor -Nixon by Frank Langella -Ray by Jamie Foxx -Ali by Will Smith -CrazySexyCool: The TLC story by Rochelle Aytes (Pebbles) , Drew Sidora (T-Boz), Lil Mama (Left Eye) -Jersey Boys by John Llyod Young
