Nobody can ever be Aaliyah or play her in any movie. The family has said numerous times that they don't want any movies or films made, respect that. People keep saying the younger generation needs to know about Aaliyah, well let them learn like we learned about our older music. Have them watch old interviews, videos, movies, concerts...don't make this movie.

As a fan I think they should make sure the family is okay first, it shouldnt just be a 90 minute lifetime movie I think it should be in theaters and Lifetime shouldn't play any role in it what so ever. This Zendaya girl...I think its disrespect for her to be in the cast

I feel as though this is not honoring Aaliyah .. Especially at the simple fact Disney is fucking failing and they have cheesy ass shows with terrible acting .. Not only that I hate when they use people who have so much exposure to do things such as this I signed this petition because this is wrong how do they know if the family is comfortable with this not only that but what about the people that were behind her timberland, missy, hell even r kelly!!! How can they go out casting people without warning or consent .. Just using the big that's hot plus she doesn't resemble this woman in no way possible I understand she's inspired by her this is a big NO!!! Stay to shake it up I'm offended by that shit too since I'm from the CHI

Aaliyah was a private person, if you're truly a fan of hers you would know this, she never talked about her private life, Why make a film and expose that.. Why disrespect her that way? I lhoved aaliyah like she was a sibling to me. her voice and talent is definitely one of a kind and she will be definitely missed but as her fan i know that aaliyah always put her family first and always had teir input with whatever she did. If her fam is not on board with it then it shouldnt be a go for this movie. It saddens me that aaliyahs legacy is being mis treated and ruin. When can we let her and her family rest.
