Omgeeee come on people the family clearly stated all though they not involved in the movie they do respect it, the movie is about a book about aaliyah they don't need the family permission and the family did say respect the artist and anybody involved in the movie so that tells me they have no issue with the movie all though they not involved now but I guarantee once the writing process start they will be. I do believe that if Aaliyah's family didn't have a say so in this movie being made, it shouldn't be made. This is a way to gain financially over the demised. The story of her life wouldn't be told correctly because the ones that surrounded her aren't even giving their input over the making of this movie. I don't feel that this should proceed unless her family feels that they are ready for Aaliyah's story to be accurately depicted.

If they were goin to have somebody act as Aaliyah, they need to have somebody who actually resembles her! Zendaya has no resemblance at all, no matter if she can sing, & dance. Aaliyah is a legend! Rip baby girl! ❤️

It's disrespectful that they would do this to Mama Haughton and Rashad, they are her only immediate family left and its very rude that they would do that, that is HER child, she raised her and its not fair that she can't even have a say in any of this

She's way too young to portray Aaliyah and she looks nothing like her. They chose a Disney actress to do a huge role. Not a good choice!

I'm upset by the actress zendaya because most of the young women that tried out said it themselves they don't wanna go further without her family permission but zendaya was different I felt she showed a selfish motive and was only thinking about her and how she felt . She never thought about her mourning family and I'm against her playing Aaliyah and an Aaliyah movie period no hate just truth
