Family comes first! Aaliyah was always referring to her brother rashad and mother Diane on her career and to not have their blessings for this movie speaks volumes! It is downright disrespectful to put a movie out without the blessing of her immediate family (her brother and mother)

Find a black girl to play a black woman!

That's messed up that Aaliyah's Mother and Rashad didn't get a approval of the movie and they not behind the production. Aaliyah's Uncle Barry is behind and he's broke so he's money hungry I want this movie to cancel.

It's wrong let her rest in peace. Her music and movies are enough no one can ever be Aaliyah. XO

I think there are more qualified people that have true talent that would make a better fit like the girl who looks like Aaliyah and the 106 park host

How could they not consult her family and how are they going to create a biopic with having details into Aaliyah life. Disturbing.

let the people have a say ... at least let the actor who is going to play her look like her a little bit

I know for a fact that she wouldn't want this, also in interviews she said shes a private person and some things she wanted to herself. No to the biopic.

She wouldn't want this. Her dad said no...r.i.p. Rashad doesn't want this... her mom is very sick right now, and I know she wouldn't want this. Goodness people, respect. I'm sure chick would do a great job acting but she isn't saying anything like, oh her family said no, so when and if I got their blessing then, I'll press forward. Sick. You want to honor her so good, then respect her family's wishes.

If the parents of Aaliyah don't want this, it should not be done. If the parent don't want everyone to know about there daughter life it should be their choice.

Why Zendaya should not play Aaliyah on lifetime./ 1. Aaliyah is African American (black), Zendaya is not 2. The movie is “LIP SYNC”, It doesn't matter if Zendaya can sing or not. 3. Music Style opposite. Aaliyah Hip hop and Rnb, Zendaya “Trash” and pop. 4. On the movie The Temptations, they did not put Caucasian people to play the role 5. The new Jersey Boys movie 2014, you can not put an African American guy to play the role 6. A biopic is the story and life of a person, so the actor should somewhat resemble the person 7. Just because Zendaya post a picture with the same hair style and outfit Aaliyah rocked does not make her a good fit. 8. I want anyone who would like to do this, put a picture of yourself that resembles Aaliyah. If you have the outfit or hair style. I promise you Lifetime will find hundreds of people that could play the role as Aaliyah. 9. Remember on the biopic “TLC,” just as everyone thought, Keke palmer was not all that when it came to playing Chili. But the other actors did a wonderful job. 10. Why Zendaya out of millions of talented people 11. I know lifetime feels as if Fall is almost here, and the movie is on a crunch time. 12. Remember this Lifetime: Aaliyah is an Icon, singer, dancer, and beautiful lady. Her story should me told by someone who resembles her. Just as the story of The Jacksons/ Micheal Jackson was told. 13. Does appearance and color matter when it comes to this movie.... Yes. Stop trying to twist things to it comes in your favor. 14. Here are some biopics that actors actually resemble or followed the race of the roles they had to play. - THE MOVIE “SELENA” BY JENNIFER LOPEZ (THEY LOOK ALIKE) -Malcolm X by Denzel Washington -Johnny Cash: Walk the Line by Joaquin Phoenix -Ghandi by Ben Kingsley -Cleopatra by Elizabeth Taylor -Nixon by Frank Langella -Ray by Jamie Foxx -Ali by Will Smith -CrazySexyCool: The TLC story by Rochelle Aytes (Pebbles) , Drew Sidora (T-Boz), Lil Mama (Left Eye) -Jersey

This is disrepectful to the family to proceed with a movie about the loss of a love one without their permission just for financial gain. Aaliyah was the daughter and sister who died tragically and we need to respect that. The family grieves for their loss and all this is doing is causing a deeper wound (this is like rubbing shattered glass in an open wound).
