100% in favor of the Aaliyah's family. They should have a say in every facet of the movie as did selenas family during the making of her bio pic. it's outright disrespectful and I'm outraged as an Aaliyah fan. we can't allow this to happen! stand for something or fall for anything!

Aaliyah was a beautiful woman with an unforgettable voice, no little 17 year old girl could ever portray her correctly, so already there the movie would be a disgrace! Also, everyone should respect her families wishes! #noaaliyahmovie

As a former member of the aaliyahonline.com team and having Aaliyah's family several times over the years i know how broken their hearts are. This is not the proper way to honor this amazing talents life. Please respect Mrs.Diane and Rashad Haughton's wishes. Aaliayah's loss is greatest to their family. What they say should be final.

No one should have the right to use a person for purposes of wealth, fortune, or fame without that person's consent. If the person is deceased there should be a legal request granting for such permissions. The family is not being respect and the death of Aaliyah is not being portrayed respectfully, accurately, professionally, or privately. This "teen star" does not reflect Aaliyah by a long shot. Talented, yes, but in my opinion she is not as attractive as Aaliyah, she has no resemblance to her at all, she cannot dance like Aaliyah and she cannot sing. The family should have say so and also choose who they feel should play the role. The family should also profit before anyone else.

I cried so much when Aaliyah died. She infected me with her beautiful energy , an energy I can't explain why, but it was uplifting, positive and sincere. Aaliyah and I share the same same name and was born 2 years apart. If I had any say so as a person with admiration for her personality and talent. I'd say respect her mother , father, brother and family. Do not make this film casting a Disney star who is represented by a bunch of black culture vultures trying to steal, mislead and capitalize off a woman who woukd strongly agree that Zendaya is and will never capture Aakyah'sd fut had and me like I

Why does lifetime feel they have the right to invade someone's personal life without the consent of their love ones and make a movie about something they truly know nothing about (Aaliyah's Life). It is my belief that Aaliyah was all about her family so if they were doing a biopic on her why wouldn't they know this and respect how her family feels regarding this issue. Lifetime is showing total disrespect for Aaliyah and her family all in the name of the $$ bill. Lifetime is beginning to lose some of the integrity of their Brand...I'm switching over to the Hallmark Chanel.
