Why make the movie when her family didn't want it made? Nothing against the actress, but why get a actress who looks nothing like her. If it is such a good idea to do the film without her family's support why didn't Missy, Timberland, and others appear in it? If it was such a good idea and done right, surely they would have been a part of it. The trailer is a HUGE disappointment. Aaliyah's movie should be done right and this isn't.

As an Aaliyah fan I can not and will not support this movie. The family's wishes should be respected, if they don't want a movie, it shouldn't happen. I don't feel the intentions behind this movie are pure, I think there is an agenda. This is not about Aaliyah's legacy and her influence on music, this is about ratings.

I think everyone should just respect aaliyahs family choices I think her family should sue if the movie does make it out its is anginst the law to just take take someone infornmation and just write about them I totally respect aaliyahs mother and brother if her mother and brother says no that should be the end of it why would her mother and brother want to be reminded over the painful tragedy all over again I cant image what they go throught god bless aaliyahs mother and brother its not a day go by that I dont think of aaliyah and her beauful smile I love her so much I will always love her I will never forget a angel we had I cry everyday I wish I could give her family a peace of my heart I pray that god help heal there hearts I will no longer cry because I know for sure god is holding her close in his arms that day she left this earth was the wrost day in my life I just getting to the point were I can look at her pictures god bless aaliyah and her love ones

Aaliyah was a woman who believed in her legacy. Aaliyah was a woman who believed in privacy; that her career was not faced nor based on her personal life but her achievements, her talent, her love, motivation, and determination not only as a singer but an entertainer to continue to evolve and mature greater than whatever previously produced. Her life is not signified of alleged rumors and allegations. We have various collections of comments and interviews from not only the late and most highly exalted Aaliyah but also others whom were both affiliated as well as questioned or felt it their duty to share their input of said topics that in all retrospect is none of our business just as we feel with personal situations in our own private lives. This movie is a priveledge to view her in finality of who those she knew and loved know and remember her as through memory, photography, and videography. While shooting her last music video Rock the Boat debut on her third self titled album AALIYAH; she clearly states her views on this movie as well as her expectations by informing us of her perspective of not only herself but her career; how she envisioned herself as a person and a role model in life; her sense of completion of having no regrets as well as living a full life with no regrets; along with how she would want her legacy portrayed. Who are we as human beings to overshadow one whose light no longer physically walks with us but throughout their legacy in which was left behind? Aaliyah is not here to physically right the wrongs of any misguidance nor violating demeaning information/portrayals of her life along with who she was as a person, a woman in society. Her movie is to give us insight on what we as fans, people who reveres her as a mentor both musically as well as in our own self personal reasons in a positive light to view Aaliyah as a person; an intellectual student; and a talented entertainer.
