If Aaliyah's mother, brother and family are against this movie then so an I. I think out respect for Aaliyah's family lifetime should have contacted her mother and brother. They are the only ones who know Aaliyah and her life better then anyone. As a fan I wold love to see Aaliyah's life on the big screen, but not without her family approving it first.

I am a HUGE fan of Aaliyah & I feel like it is extremely disrespectful for Lifetime or whoever it was to attempt to make this movie about Aaliyah without her familys permission & use Zendaya of all people. No offense to Zendaya but I never even heard of the damn girl until she was mentioned to play Aaliyah. I'm sorry but Aaliyah deserves waaaaaay better than Zendaya to play her role & to play her role on Lifetime, a freaking tv channel. Aaliyah was so beautiful & so talented.. she left such a tremendous impact in the music industry. There should be no reason why a movie about her should air on Lifetime. BUT THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL THING OUT OF THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS THE FACT THAT THEY'RE TRYNA GO THROUGH WITH THIS WITHOUT HER FAMILY'S CONSENT OR INVOLVEMENT. So I am EXTREMELY against this so called biopic!!

This decision should of been made with the approval of the family. The family should at least had a say in the actress, tv platform and plot. Cancel this and start over.

Everything you said is accurate asf it don't make no sense smh zendaya don't look a damn thing like Aaliyah her ass ain't even fully African American they skin completion doesn't even match and zendaya ain't no real Aaliyah fan like she say she is cuss if she was her ass would of never took the role without Aaliyah's mother and brother say so and Lolita price should of really gotten the part like seriously but she didn't do it cuss Aaliyah's family wasn't even apart of the movie but they seriously need to stop the movie

If she were my loved one. I would feel the exact way the family is. I signed this petition to show my utmost respect for the family and to bring awareness to others. Aaliyah Haughton is still my rolemodel and i know this angel of god is beautiful and would not condone this without the family's consent. please show your support. #Aaliyah'sangels
