Stop the Road

I was under the impression that developments were given approvals so long as they fit into an ASP, but now it appears the City allows development without an ASP in place and then decides upon build-out to finalize an Area Structure Plan (ASP). This explains how the City continually creates these types of problems. What changed in this area to necessitate such a drastic planning measure to be overlooked?

The proposal to build this road goes against everything promised to the home owners in this area and is appalling. There are far better solutions available. Please exercise some degree of integrity and honour your promises.

Not needed even a little bit. There is no good reasin to have this built. It is a complete waste of my tax dollars.

This proposed road is inappropriate! No need to cross through residential areas!

The road they plan on building is extremely invasive for such a small residential area. These plans are far to disruptive to both the residents of the area and the large amount of wildlife in this area. Residents did not purchase their homes and therefore their livelihood to have a collector road smack dab in the middle of it! I grew up in this area and I would hate to see it be degraded to a simple short cut from 85th to 77th street.

the road through the community is not needed. Try finishing the pathways in neighbourhoods and improving traffic flow on 17th.

Very poor planning - it's not required. 17th Ave was designed for higher traffic volumes - not our quiet neighbourhood. Stop the road!

It is unacceptable to completely change the nature of a road (and a neighborhood) from quiet residential to main thoroughfare after people have already purchased their homes! If the city does this, I think they should all sue the city for lost property value and damages to their lifestyle!

Such a road is not needed in our community and would create a traffic nightmare.

10 years of residency and tax paying on this property on 81st Street SW and this is what I now have to deal with? Please consider the residents of this residential neighbourhood which have no interest in becoming an internal connector to a retail shopping area. Main roads should be that...main roads.

Road is not necessary. Please consider the residences of our neighbourhood.

I have been a resident of Spring Willow Estates for 10 years and my wife and I along with our 4 children are thrilled to have the opportunity to live in this beautiful neighborhood. The city of Calgary is ruining the safety of this neighborhood for our family and other families by even considering joining 81st to 85st as it would create a dangerously busy thoroughfare through Spring Willow and cause irreparable damage to this serene neighborhood. The City of Calgary must take the safety and well being of our neighborhood seriously and leave the beautiful area uninterrupted going forward.

Adding this road will negatively affect the community that has been built.

The proposed connector road was not disclosed to us when we purchased in Mystic Ridge 2 years ago and it appears the City is forging ahead with a decision on this front without performing a comprehensive impact study, including truly hearing the comments and concerns of the various families that reside in the affected areas and assessing the impact on the wildlife that reside throughout this area. I strongly disagree with this approach and suggest a proper review process be conducted before any decisions be made on this front...it just does not make any sense and there has to be a better route or solution!

bought in this area for the space, peace & quiet - city is not listening to the tax payers of the area
