Stop the Road

The need to make every neighborhood look exactly the same is taking this way to far. The character of this community should be carried through out. Stop the road!

Yet another poorly designed and thought through road for Calgary. Instead of aimlessly wrecking a perfectly good community let's rethink this.

STOP THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!!

My parents pay a lot to keep us safe on this secluded beautiful block, I hope it stays this way.

This is a small residential neighbourhood that's not designed or prepared for this kind of intrusion.

Our son & family, whom we visit often from Ontario, would be adversely affected by this road. It is inconceivable that this road be built without proper consultation or disclosure to residents who built their very expensive dream homes.

Simply put we would not have invested significant savings in building our dream home if we had known that a connector road was planned or being considered. It was not disclosed by the builder, the developer, or the City, nor was it shown on any plans at the time of our build. People who build homes, base their decision on best information as it pertains to value, future worth, enjoyment and safety of their family. Without disclosing the possibility of this road on their future development plans the City, through the Developer and Builder, has seriously misled buyers and has put in jeopardy their primary considerations that motivated their decisions to build. It is the obligation of the Developer, the Builder and the City to disclose possible impacts to value Before not After the homes have been built. In foisting this road into plans at this late stage the City is showing its blatant disregard for safety, protection of investments and future values. The plan for this road should be shelved indefinitely and alternate plans developed and implemented in the area that is still undeveloped. In the undeveloped area all road and housing configurations are still possible and people choosing to build can make their decisions on full disclosure which is as it should be

We are strongly concerned that a connector road between 85th St. and 77th St. will further increase the trafic volumes on 77th St and on 26th Ave. 77th and 26th are already heavily used by non-residents as shortcuts to avoid the 17th Ave./69 St. intersection. This will only further increase the problem of heavy traffic volumes at high speeds during the peak commuting hours.

We have just bought in Mystic Ridge and a street of this nature through our quiet community with significant wildlife presence is ridiculous. We are outraged how the City is changing the plan for this community on a whim, while many of us purchased based on a plan in place for a significant period of time. How can the City just ignore the concerns being brought forward? We are extremely concerned what this will do to our community and the value of our property.

We have just purchased in Mystic Ridge and see no need for the connector road with adequate access from 85th and 77th to 17th avenue. 17th avenue was built for these traffic volumes. A connector through Mystic Ridge would be a terrible decision by the City and a waste of valuable resoruces. The City should consider the wildlife living in the ravine and potential impact as well.

As a frequent recreational pedestrian in this area, I am concerned about the negative impact upon the safety of the streets, and the tranquility of the neighbourhood, due to increased traffic on these residential streets.

Why put a collector road through the area that has the lowest densities? Move the road North to where the higher densities are by the Seniors home proposed to go in, if we even need a road. Emergency Services stated at a City meeting that the road was not necessary. Up to 8000 cars, busses and trucks going through our community- what is that going to do for our property values?

This is an very poor decision being rushed through without proper assessment. I do not agree with this proposal and strongly advise an alternative route be considered.

This area represents one of the last preserved communities within the city of Calgary. Disrupting the natural beauty of this community by building this road will bring about negative consequences that significantly outweigh the few positives. The city should seriously consider abandoning this project. STOP THE ROAD!

Having relatives in the area and frequently visiting, this will have a negative impact with an increase in traffic. More importantly a proper assessment and environmental study should be conducted. Consultation with the community should be a priority. Rushing without following proper process does not follow the democratic process.

I am 100% against this planned road through a quiet community and nature preserve. An alternative route must be considered as this has been rushed and inadequately evaluated for safety, noise and property value considerations. WE CAN AND MUST DO A BETTER JOB!

Stop the road!!!

I have a friend who lives in the neighbourhood that would be affected. I don't want any thing happening to her, her family or any others because of an unsafe road that is unnessisary.
