Stop the Rezone (Tippecanoe County, IN Case R-2820)

I oppose the rezoning to R3 housing. We are in desperate need of single family housing in West Lafayette and student housing is not a suitable use of this land. Thank you!

7 units per acre is just nuts in this area. Please put the kabosh on this project.

There is not enough single family housing in West Lafayette and Lafayette as it is. Prices are at all time highs. The city needs to be more concerned about its residents and less about the temporary residents who come for a few years and leave. Student housing is a breeding ground for crime, drug use, and overcrowding. Why are we giving up prime real estate close to town for these temps? Remember the shooting at the Hub not one year after it opened? Prime real estate by the river taken from long time citizens for the use of rich students who want hot tubs on their balconies. It makes me sick.

My elderly parents live at 2511 Raintree Drive. They moved here 10 years ago to be closer to me and my family. They chose their home because it was a residential cul-de-sac and was in a rural area. Bringing high density housing to the area will make it less safe for my parents. I need to know that first responders will be available if they need them. I need to know that they can feel safe driving to the grocery store. Bringing in student housing to this area will negatively affect my parents' quality of life. I am positive they would not have chosen to live in this home if student housing had been close by. Finally, we do not need more student housing. The massive student housing/high rises built in the last few years are not full! Why approve more student housing when there are vacancies in what we have? Please stop the rezoning of this area!

This area is located by residential homes. There is space on campus that should to be considered instead. There is already a new development that is going up adjacent to 231. Please consider a location on campus.

I live west of this area, and drive by regularly. High-density housing is inappropriate for this area and not in keeping with the US 231 Corridor plans. Stay closer to town!

Agree, this rezone is not a good fit with the area. We have enough student housing as it is.

Please do not allow student apartments right next to the single family homes. This would also be the start of the need for stoplights on 26 west. Please leave this area as a country setting and do not bring in the noise of students.

We do not need more high rise housing for students or others in this area. There has been more than enough new dense housing built in the last 5 years.

I am opposed to the development.

This would be a disaster for the area and a slippery slope if approved. This will bring nothing of value and more stress on infrastructure

I am a resident of the area suggested and I am against the rezoning of the field just east of The Orchard on State Road 26 that is currently R1 single family to R3 high density

To me, this seems like yet another example of development simply for development's sake (and of course, with the attendant benefits to certain parties involved) rather than any sort of well-planned, well-considered community necessity.

Reject the proposed zoning code change. R3 will negatively affect the area and if approved there will be no going back.

Once again developers are coming in with no regard to infrastructure. How will the schools keep up how about fire and police. Even worse these folks are coming in trying to squeeze as much money out of as little space as possible.

No rezoning
