This was as a result of a flawed system implemented by Practitioner Services, which the dental community strongly opposed as it was unworkable. This has proved true.
Practitioner Services is now clawing this money back, after 7 years. They intend to reclaim this money from the dentists over 2 months, seriously facing many practitioners and practices with the real prospect of financial hardship.
We would like to see this stopped.

The volume of support has now reached a level that allows us to secure a formal meeting with representatives from the Practitioner Services Division. My primary objective is to present our case against the two month repayment window and demand a sustainable alternative.

Just seem to be determined to make things as hard as possible for dentists who want to be committed to the nhs
unjustified decision by PSD. It has made me disillusioned and quite angry how dentists have got to take the rap for other organisations errors.
Feel completely disrespected. Work hard to look after my patients, the government makes a mistake which it was warned would happen, then they demand 7 years worth of their monetary mistakes back from us over 2 months without even an apology. Sickening.
System designed by PSD. Flaws noted by PSD. So they then wait 8 years to actually do something. Doesn't seem right to me.
Regardless of where the blame lies for these duplicates, the total payments made from PSD to practitioners still is woefully below the level required to keep our income level with previous years. To deduct this money as an 'overpayment' therefore is to further reduce an already reduced income and compound the pay cut at a time the government agreed to a pay freeze. Go figure!
Don't let Scotland lose it's NHS dentists over this beaurocratic error.
It appears to be knee jerk and ill thought out reaction by P.S.D.

Continually kick dentists who have remained loyal to NHS. Seems to be politicians who rarely suffer cuts , but then again they work so hard.
