Stop the racial profiling of black and brown people in Delaware County

Racial profiling is not okay--not even a little bit and not anywhere in our country.

It never ceases to amaze me that the young black and brown men are so feared, when it's actually they who should be afraid. How terrifying to walk in public wondering whether somebody will shoot you or lock you up.

You would think by now that police recognize any time a person of color is stopped by a police vehicle that extreme fear may arise. Force created fear and anxiety for this young man. Have we not learn to use human kindness

Profiling should be illegal everywhere.

Have we learned nothing? Is there any end to this despicable lack of understanding and compassion? In my 79th year I am still asking "what is it going to take for white people to 'walk in the shoes' of people of color? As things stand now it doesn't feel like I will be alive to see it.

A most disturbing story. Could anyone wonder that this child was traumatized by the arrival of three police cars? The consequences are heart breaking.

Truly unfortunate and unnecessary. If the police and the person who called in are white, it appears that fear, racial profiling, or prejudice are going on here. The police must know that some residents in a neighborhood may be prejudiced or have unrealistic fear when they see someone with black or brown skin, and take that into consideration in responding to a call like this. I understand that police have to respond when they get the call. I hope that it is done with deep understanding of the impact it has on a person, who may be innocent, with brown or black skin. I believe this petition can begin a much needed process of education and healing between the police and the community.

This is a petition that needs to be seen in more places than just DelCo.

I'm a white resident of Haverford Township. This appalling profiling behavior makes me feel LESS safe, and worried for our citizens of color.

Racial profiling has to end !! Enough is enough with all this insanity !! The trauma, pain, and everlasting harm this does to our black/brown community is horrendous leaving wounds and scars that never heal.

This must stop!

This is a heartbreaking story and we can do so much to ensure these kinds of incidents are not repeated in our community, our State and our Country. Education and healing are needed for us to thrive as a community. Thank you for creating this petition and beginning this process.

This is a heartbreaking and far too familiar story. I hope he is able to heal and thar we are willing to fight for a more just world.

No white male would be “forced” to take a courtesy ride to prove where they lived.
