Westerhope doesn’t need a cycle lane , it would cause havoc.

Let's hope the council listen for once or is this going to be another scheme put in place like the longest bus lane on Stamfordham Road

Traffic is bad enough without reducing the road through westerhope. How can it be justified to fell 40 mature trees for a very small minority of cyclists it's a disgraceful proposal

Dont need to make our roads more hazardous to cyclists who pay nothing when us motorists have to pay MOT road tax and insurance but we have to drive careful to cater for them

Traffic in Westerhope is a nightmare due to all the new builds we have around the area but no new roads a cycle lane is a really badly thoughtless idea and not even cyclists want one!

No need i live on Stamfordham road and so few cyclists use it. Removing all those trees would be so sad and ruin the look of the place.

I’d be very surprised if the amount of cyclists using the proposed lanes justifies the destruction of much needed trees.

This is a highly inappropriate proposal to the point even regular cyclists who travel via Stamfordham Road are saying it is unnecessary and wouldn't benefit them.
Yes, the council needs to look at encouraging sustainable travel but common sense needs to prevail here. Add to the fact that nearly 40 mature trees and green space will be lost it defies logic when the cycle lane will clearly not be used as intended.

No need for a cycle lane, the road is very busy to start with without adding more pointless chaos. Avid cyclists tend to not use them anyway!
