We/I support the Gellinudd Hospital League of Friends Campaign to stop the closure of Gellinudd Hospital, Pontardawe. We/I firmly believe that the hospital should be an integral part of the ABM Health Board strategy to provide "care in the community", especially with an ageing population, who will have differing ill health needs and differing personal circumstances, which will require a diverse range of medical, nursing and "home" care. Since Gellinudd Hospital is a relatively new hospital built in the 1990's with 30 beds, 24 of which are self contained cubicles, the hospital is ideally designed to offer this medical/nursing care. We/I agree that the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapy and support staff based at the hospital have provided a safe caring environment for the old, frail, vulnerable, ill patients of the very highest standard for many years. We/I agree this loved and cherished hospital must be retained and not closed, so safeguarded for the benefit of future generations. This on-line petition will be e-mailed to ABM Health Board [email protected] -before the end of the formal consultation period i.e. 7th May 2013

My grandmother was there for rehab and they were brilliant with her. Closing this place would be a huge mistake for people in the valley.

Such a waste of a good facility. stop trying to save money by cutting services we actually use.
