My son has behavioral issues almost daily.
We need to keep our wages and the 40 hours a week so my husband and I can help Jake with his behaviors and helping him live life to the fullest. We use our wages to house him, feed him, but him clothing and so much more.

I get there our budget short falls, but this is not the way to handle it. This is not the way you treat your most vulnerable population. If you’re concerned about fraud, create programs that address that don’t just cut funds.

This is very harmful for the most vulnerable. There is a staffing shortage, family members know the person, they know what triggers them. A stranger doesn't. Even when explaining the trigger, it doesn't help when the time comes to deal with it. It also takes over a month for someone to get qualified. People won't go a month at a job with no money. It is a job for strangers. It is part life with family members.

Please stop the insanity of punishing families for caring for their adults with disabilities. The burden is already extremely heavy and overwhelming. We need support not punishment.

Family as Staff provides the most stable services for participants. Limiting the hours when there is a shortage of outside staff will hurt participants significantly. Their care is very important in order to keep the participants safe and well. This move will not fair well for participants

The 40/60 would not allow my daughter to have the proper care. She's already upset knowing she won't be with her sister as much. Don't you think what's best for the disabled is what really should be what's best for all ?

Limiting ALL family to just 60 hours, including respite, seems to have no reasonable explanation behind it. My daughter is most comfortable with family and we struggle to find trusted non family DSPs.
