It doesn’t make sense especially if you have family as staff who doesn’t live with the participant. Also, prohibiting family from providing administrative services doesn’t make sense.

The hours cut will cause a hardship for our household. If I work outside the home my son will be home alone without support. Have you considered my child’s safety or if an emergency happens. And the hourly rate is $20.00 per hour. With you cutting the hours of support that I provide him, we are no longer able to afford excursions, day to day activities, and enrichment programs and I am let with choosing to work outside of our home or going to the state to request section 8 housing, food stamps and Medicaid. . Please consider my concerns. Thank you in advance.

This bill wouldn't help families that are trying to keep their loved ones protective. People with disabilities have a higher number of rapes and sexual assaults and violent crimes. My daughter is nonverbal and wouldn't be able to protect herself or tell me if she was violated. Please let us keep our loved ones with their families to insure their safe keeping.

I am responsible for an individual who can't take care of herself and needs 24 hr around the clock monitoring and ques. If someone didn't mention to her to drink water she wouldn't drink water. She is a vunerable individual who has been taken advantage of by those in leadership roles in day programs.
I am totally against thia. Not to mention this amendment is a tragedy waiting to happen. My loved one and Special Needs Individuals will be the ones to suffer the cost of this amendment.

If this rule is enforced it would be detrimental to my child and family. My child is blind, autistic and mentally challenged, and needs constant around the clock care and support. It has always been a challenge to find really good, dependable support staff. However, since COVID-19 it is almost impossible to do so. The 60/40 petition, as I stated previously, would have a devastatingly, negative effect on the consistent safety and care needed for my child.

Please protect the needs of people with disabilities. Hiring qualified and reliable staff is near impossible in this industry, often causing parents or family members to have to quit their jobs to care for their family member. Making this change will take away necessary care for this population of individuals.
