Let's Thank Zondervan for Stopping the "God Bless the USA Bible"

Thank you for considering pulling out of this! Now more than ever, we need to work to keep Scripture about SCRIPTURE; about the Kingdom of Heaven…not as a tool to glorify any one nation or earthly kingdom.

This reeks of American nationalism and is offensive to believers around the world. Pandering to an audience that is already confusing faith and patriotism may be profitable, but the loss of your integrity and Christian witness is not worth the cost.

Thank you Zondervan for realizing a Bible of that sort, has no place in the Church.

This is idolatry and white nationalism...and it is totally contradictory to the Bible’s message. Thank you for not supporting white supremacy and oppression.

As someone who grew up in the Christian Reformed Church, I am extremely concerned about this planned problematic Bible edition.

There is no excuse for a Christian publisher to have anything to do with this Bible. It actively, intentionally fosters the heresy of Christian nationalism.

This is just a bad idea. I say this as a local church pastor, don't publish this mess.

Zondervan should focus on God's word, not equating the documents of this country with the sacred text of the Bible.

I honestly did not believe this article could be true. So...I followed up and checked the facts and was surprised and saddened that in fact, the post I read on Facebook was true. The central message of the Bible is that God shares “His Story” with all the world and does not elevate any culture above another...”all are precious in his sight!”

I will no longer use Zondervan textbooks for my courses should this be published. DO the right thing.

This is repulsive and Zondervan should be ashamed and do some serious thinking about what kind of company they wish to be.

The publication of God's word alongside these secular texts (which the founding fathers themselves declared to be imperfect, a fact forgotten worryingly frequently) is sacrilegious. And to do it "in commemoration" of 9/11, an appalling event carried out by a handful of sick individuals rather than a whole religion, and an event that exacerbated hatred of Muslims across America, is just disgusting. This is tasteless and if it goes ahead I will be sure to only purchase translations from other publishers in future, and tell everyone I know to do the same. This is not enacting the Father's Kingdom. It's endorsing nationalism and hatred. We are called to be better than this.
