Let's Thank Zondervan for Stopping the "God Bless the USA Bible"

To include political documents in the Bible is blasphemy. Please don’t distribute this.

This is nationalism and is toxic to the church

Let’s keep the gospel cross-cultural, for all peoples, all times, all places.

This kind of Christian nationalism is theologically incorrect and poorly timed. As a Zondervan author, I do not think this is a good idea,.

Pull this Bible! It is idolatry.

please do not promote a toxic mix of nationalism and Christianity

Don’t reinforce American Christian nationalism and cause division in the worldwide body of Christ by trying to co-opt God’s word for a quick buck.

If you cannot name this Bible “Jesus Bless the United States,” then this Bible is really promoting a consensus Gil religion and version of God, that is not the Jesus of the scriptures. Please do not contribute to the heresy of Christian Nationalism that has grown in the United States. What does this Bible say of other countries were your products are sold and distributed. That the creator of the Universe is not there, but the BLT found on the Northern continent of the Western Hemisphere? God is the creator of all of creation and of all peoples.

I understand this may make sense from the perspective of selling Bibles. But as a publisher of a religious text you have a duty to respect not just scripture but the secular nature of America's founding documents. Linking the two is, mildly put, a disturbing practice. That it is ostensibly to commemorate a national tragedy which fueled jingoist Christian nationalism in the church is all the more disgusting. In these especially divisive times it is alarming that such a product even be considered.

I agree. Jesus said "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world." (John 8:23) Those government texts are not Scripture, least of all lyrics by Lee Greenwood. Down with corrupting the faith with nationalism.

God’s Word is not American. It’s God’s. Please respect the Scriptures and do let this Bible be published.

I appreciate Zondervan's intentions, but this is a very, very bad idea. Please give this project a quick, quiet, unobtrusive burial.

I respectfully request that you reconsider the message this sends. The Word of God is for all people, not any particular culture or nation.

People get that Christ/God aren’t American right?

Keep Christian nationalism and American exceptionalism out of Bible publishing!

This might be the tackiest and most disrespectful way for a publisher to mark the 20th anniversary of a national tragedy.
