I sickening display of civic religion and nationalism

Should not be on the Bible.

This is idolatry.

Total heresy

No document made by man, even of the highest quality, should be married to the holy Scripture. And certainly not if they link God's Word to a particular nation.

As an ordained Baptist minister, my allegiance to God is above all others and my belief in the Constitutional separation of church and state leads me to protest this marriage of holy scripture and patriotic pride. Please don't feed this Christian Nationalism beast. Stay true to allegiance to Christ alone.

The Bible and US Constitution need to remain separate. This Bible violates separation of church and state, which is in that historical document. Likewise, this Bible also includes other documents learned about history classes.

Let's not confuse the canon of scripture with nationalism. Bonhoeffer warned long ago against the uneasy allegiance of flags and state.

Our country was founded by individuals who strongly believed in the separation of church and state. Putting the United States Constitution inside the covers of the Bible is not only ironic but irreverent. They are not equal documents. Please see the wisdom of doing the right thing over making a buck from Evangelical Nationalists!

The publishing of this particular Bible is wrong in so many ways. I disagree with it, and I believe Jesus Christ would, too.

This is nauseating. The Bible and Christianity are about the Kingdom of God, a global/universal movement. This Bible encourages a narrow, nationalistic, even xenophobic faith.

Dear Zondervan, the Church in the USA does not need more nationalism, it needs less. Please stop this idolatry.

The churches who choose to dive head first into declaring one political side good over the other makes both worse.

This "God Bless America" edition of the Bible is perhaps well-intentioned, but poorly executed. The Bible is God-breathed in its entirety, inerrant and complete. These national, government documents and song lyrics are not God-breathed, nor do they helpfully contribute to the message of the Bible. Furthermore, considering the present tense climate of the American church and the rise of Christian nationalism and fundamentalism, this edition of the Bible appears to promote Christian nationalism, which is both divisive and a poor business tactic [as a publisher who wants to reach as many people as possible within the market]. Please consider stopping production and halting this project altogether. Thank you.

This Bible feeds some of the worst biases in contemporary White Evangelical culture. Please stop.
