Let's Thank Zondervan for Stopping the "God Bless the USA Bible"

Please don’t print this idolatrous artifact of syncretism!

This is ridiculously offensive and should not even have been considered.

Being American is not the same as being Christian. This Bible promotes American Nationalism.

Don't do this. It's true we live here, but as Christians we know that this is not our forever home. We don't need to plaster patriotic, America focused things in God's word. It takes attention away from what scripture is about.

“My Messiah died for the world, not just USA.” This has to stop. Shouldn’t the Word of God be enough?

Please discontinue this printing which promotes a natural sortie into nationalism.

Hi Zondervan, you do realize that the Bible is NOT an American book? Please reconsider.

Please reconsider this. Nationalism with a biblical veneer debases Scripture and contradicts Galatians 3:28.

This mentality is toxic and damaging to the faith.

Please do not fuel the confusion between Amwrican Nationalism and Christianity by publishing this Bible edition.

Both publishing houses have long standing reputations of producing credible literary pieces which bring academic, global, and historical shaping of Christian thought. This Bible is an appalling misstep. Equating the constitution with scripture's story and process is heretical. It lifts up the United States as some sort of favored nation state. Please discontinue publishing plans and restore your reputation.

Please, stay (far!) away from the track of blending the Bible with nationalism; it has a bad history... (Also, I generally highly value the work of Zondervan, this does not fit into that picture at all)

In the same way an alcoholic needs to stay aware from beer, Americans need to be fearful of Nationalism. It may seem harmless to overlap Jesus and america, but we are addicts that don’t know when to quit.

Please, please, please don't do this! So many Americans are already confused by Christian nationalism...

This publication undercuts the good reputation that Zondervan/Harper Collins has enjoyed in the academic community of Biblical Studies

Please discontinue this publication. As an American missionary and theologian, I struggle constantly with the damage that syncretistic American Christianity has on the reputation of the Gospel abroad. The confusion of Christian identity with North American culture and political identity is a major obstacle to the preaching of the Gospel in the global South, and exacerbates the endemic attitudes of cultural superiority among short term and long term mission groups. This version of the Bible will contribute to that problem.

Please do not publish this Bible. As a pastor, I have a hard enough time helping folks disentangle their faith from cheap patriotism without this kind of trash making my job more difficult.
