Let's Thank Zondervan for Stopping the "God Bless the USA Bible"

Please do not confused Christianity with national identity.

Galatians 1:9-10. "As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of God."

Please don’t wrap the Bible in the American flag. It’s tacky and probably idolatry.

I struggle to see how this is anything short of blasphemous...

What are they thinking?

Very disappointed. This should have never been approved. Zondervan and Harpercollins, please make a better choice. Money should not be this important to you.

This is wrong at so many levels and a cheap stunt that should not come from a top publisher. Please rethink!

It is disturbing to see a major publisher involved in the production of such a divisive and misleading volume. This calls into question any claim to academic rigour and impartiality on the part of the press.

Disgusting idolatry.

America is not the promised land. Let us be like Abraham, working in the hope of the home that has been promised. Let us put our global family, our coworkers, our fellow soldiers, our co-heirs in Christ of a new kingdom, before the bonds made by simple proximity and man-made government. Please don't send the wrong message to the nations. I work in Bible translation and until people see God's Word in their language they often believe it's a white man's religion and a Westerner's God. Please don't add to their confusion. We are not the Latter Day Saints, believing God waited to reveal the entirety of his truth in modern day America. We believe he already did so in Christ and we follow in the footsteps of the saints who saw him. May God bless America. May she not become conceited but humbly serve in God's service for God's glory and not her own.

This is aberrant. It is an appalling symbol of Christian nationalism. Instead of fighting a leading problem in the American church, namely, American Christian nationalism, you as publishers seek to capitalize on it and exacerbate the problem. As long as this is being published, I will refuse to purchase Zondervan or Harper Collins products.

God is so much bigger than the US and does not see borders. The way I understand it, nations and nationalities are not something God intended. We are brothers and sisters in Christ no matter where we come from. We should not be reading secular doctrine as if it were on an equal plane with the Holy Bible. Separate these writings as they were originally intended.
