Let's Thank Zondervan for Stopping the "God Bless the USA Bible"

Please, Zondervan and HarperCollins, consider the catastrophic impact of this on global missions. People could carry and give this "Bible" to people in minority Christian contexts where suspicion that Christianity is a Western faith, and this will bring harm to new believers.

This seems to be catering to nationalism

This is blatantly idolatrous and antithetical to the Gospel of Christ's universal kingship.

This is idolatry of country.

This is the BIBLE, not a nationalistic collection of writings. The Constitution and other founding documents are NOT sacred text! Please seek wisdom here and reverse course, in Jesus’ name.

The Word of God should not be used as blatant, harmful propaganda. What an utterly disgusting idea that goes against what the Bible represents. Why are we using a message of love and peace to encourage violence, hatred, and nationalism when the Word of God is supposed to be for everyone?

This publication cheapens the Word of God and is solely a marketing ploy. It is disparaging to believers in other countries.. Very disappointed!

Against the principles of the book it represents....

This edition is a besmirching of Christian faith and a replacement of that faith with gross nationalism. Zondervan errs to publish it.

We do much harm by confusing the right hand and left hand kingdoms. This Bible should never have been licensed.

An idolatrous abomination. Please don’t allow this ungodly mixing of the Kingdom of God with a specific, flawed, and often unjust kingdom of the world.

Separation of church and state is a hallmark of our nations founding. Do not encourage the racist christian evangelical nationalist sentiment that this type of thing would represent!

I was not surprised when I saw this terrible idea pop up online, but I was very surprised by who was even considering doing it. Please back away, Zondervan/Harper Collins, it's toxic.

As both a pastor and person of faith serving faith-based non-profits I STRONGLY encourage you to not feed this theologically heretical idea that the USA and democracy are synonymous with biblical truth and Christlike faith! Is storming the capitol while waving Christian symbols not enough to convince you of the dangerous folly that is being embraced?

Too many white American Christians already treat the Declaration of Independence and Constitution as sacred texts, even though they sanctioned slavery and genocide of Native peoples. This book supports dangerous ideologies of American superiority and white supremacy that are antithetical to the Gospel. For the love of God, do not publish this book and engage in deep reflection with your team about why you ever thought this was a good idea in the first place.
