We request SDG&E’s proposed transmission line project (TL6975) running approximately 12 miles, connecting the San Marcos substation to the Escondido substation not be built by adding additional above ground power line poles.
Instead, we propose the new transmission line be built underground as outlined in SDG&E’s proposed alternative route C in SDG&E’s "PROPONENT’S ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT", dated November 15, 2017 or through a combination of alternatives that SDG&E has considered that meet the project objectives.

Undergrounding these lines eliminates all permanent impacts, leaving only the temporary impacts associated with construction. As proposed, the lines create a substantial impact on the environment, which SDG&E does not adequately identify or analyze in its PEA.
These power lines should be put underground. Above ground, they are a fire hazzard. My backyard faces the canyon where these new poles will go.
I am highly opposed to putting more power lines above ground. The combination of fire risk, health concerns and negative impact to property values are all reasons to put these lines underground. The recent experience with fires in Northern California should be enough to be convincing that it is not worth the risk to life and limb and the community.
we do not want power lines behind our Sagewood community in San Elijo Hills! It will kill values between 50 to $75,000! I am a real estate broker and I sell over here and I see it all the time plus the buzzing sound is not healthy for the kids or families! Put it on the ground or move it somewhere else
We live in SEH in San Marcos and are very concerned about the fire hazards and lack of roads/pathways out of San Elijo Hills while several new housing developments have been added. Why would SDGE intentionally create added risk to our community by adding power lines when we are literally surrounded by an abundance of flammable pine trees??
Stop this atrocity at once.

Above ground power lines are a fire and safety hazard. The fire hazard will only increase as global warming wreaks havoc on the climate. New lines need to be installed underground. This benefits everyone including SDGE. SDGE's liability from wildfire caused by downed power lines is greatly reduced with underground installations.
