I believe this should be built at one of the two other sites where homes have not already been built. At the very least it should be made so it does not change the views and open spaces the residents in that area currently have.

Wise up Board of County Commissioners! You are getting the wool pulled over your eyes by Xcel!
Xcel is trying to cram this project down our throats under the guise of "time is running out on government incentives that will benefit the rate payers" (read as: "we can save money and boost the profits of our company if we hurry up"). Never mind that the substation will not benefit OUR community, but will enable Xcel to reap more revenue and profits from communities far south of us.
Shame on the Planning Commission for failing to stop this project (only 1 "No" vote was cast) and for doing ZERO homework on this project. If they would have spent 5 minutes on Google they'd have seen communities all across our state fighting for (and winning!) design changes that benefit the communities where these substations are located. SE Aurora is no longer in the middle of nowhere as it was 50+ years ago when the first substation was installed. Arapahoe County has continued on an aggressive development plan and the area in question is now a thriving and heavily developed part of our community.
You may not be able to stop this project, but you can force changes to it. Educate yourselves on what is possible and fight for your community! If you're going to greenlight this project, make sure you'll be able to drive by this location 10, 20, 30, or 40 years from now with your grandchildren and be proud of the legacy you are leaving in our community.

We have an elementary school right there and a brand new middle school going in next to this new station....I am sincerely concerned for our children's health!

This is ridiculous! You make tons of money on our back and putting in something else we get ZERO benefit from...like the water tower, another tire shop, another ED etc etc with no say is awful! I wish we could get any other power company to come in and stop your monopoly I am sure you would lose business.
No to Powerlines close to Tollgate Crossing community, we have enough in our area

Please force accelerate to bury these lines and put up an aesthetically pleasing substation if they must put one up at all. The home owners in Tollgate crossing were never notified (because apparently you only get notified if you live within 500 ft - ridiculous) and while I moved here knowing of the 2 close by, having a third and additional towers is unfair at best - perhaps xcel could put this somewhere else less impactful to the community already living with their gigantic eye sore.

FYI, you need to contact your county commissioners, the city council will not be voting on this unless we can force them to vote. http://www.co.arapahoe.co.us/index.aspx?NID=259
I am writing a letter to the BOCC this weekend, in it I am asking for more money for improvements.

Xcel doesn't care about the people who live in Aurora or the communities where they install there infrastructure. All they care about are profits. Please do more than signing this petition. Please write your elected representatives:
Tell them how disappointed you are that they're not doing more to force Xcel to take measures to protect residents from unknown effects of EMF, protect our property values, and reduce the eyesore these industrial elements create.
