IIT Kanpur is the same campus only with our community members. They had great struggle in building up our campus in this way. We all should respect it and show our solidarity with them. IIT Kanpur is adopting many villages around us to make it better, but if we cant see 72 families just inside the campus, what is the use. ! Please stop this illegal contract.

The livelihood of workers must be protected. And IITK admin is responsible for this as principal employer.

The right to minimum wage should be respected and followed in an esteemed institute like IITK, of which we are proud alumni. The institute faulting on human right violation and unhumanly treatment to its contractual workers is a shameful act.

The handling of the situation goes against the principles of natural justice! IITK as a public funded institution has the responsibility to set the right example.

This step is regressive and puts at risk all the efforts which IITK community has made to ensure dignity of the contract workers.

Passing the buck on to contractors for violating workers' rights has been the true and tried mechanism for absolving responsibility, from time immemorial, for unscrupulous corporations. That educational institutions also move to this modus operandi to divide society is appalling.

The IITK VH has been maintained by these hard working workers who need to be treated with respect for their services.
