I hope and urge IIT Kanpur to take decisions in support of humanity and the workers. It should serve as a role model for students in being more sensitive.

Even if the contract is changing there is no reason to change the workers. In fact IIT should hire manpower and run the Guest House itself.

It is shameful on the part of an institute like IITK to even be involved in such practices. Instead of showing the world a model of sustainable and inclusive development we are setting bad examples.

Dear Prof. Manna,
Request to intervene in this matter and see that no unjustice is done to the long serving workers. Payment of minimum wages has always been the responsibility of the principal employer. So legally also IITK is responsible to maintain that. Thanks Sajid

I have received excellent service at the VH during batch reunions. I find it disturbing that 72 out of 74 workers will be terminated after many years of service to IITK>
