We’ve been staying at the Derby for years now and I can’t imagine Great Urswick without the Derby. The brewery need to give try to find a new licensee before shutting it for good and turning it into something like flats. Once a pub is gone it’s gone forever and part of the village dies with it.

Pubs are centres of community, close the pub and the heart dies

Having lived in the village for several years I regularly drank in the Derby. Especially enjoyed the special events organised by Sally throughout the years. Tho I no longer live in the village I’ve made some lifelong friends due to the Derby Arms & still have a laught thinking about the Potato & Cake competitions. For the sake of the local community keep the Derby OPEN...

Really sad to hear about the potential closure; I have some great memories of The Derby as both a patron and a member of staff. Really hope the brewery sees sense.

Such sad news, I've enjoyed many many good night's and day do's in the Derby it's the main social hub of the two villages ,it is a real shame to think that a corporation such as Robinson's could just close it for good without a real good reason

Would be sad to loose the Derby heart of a great village.

Why haven’t Robinson’s asked the villagers what they feel about losing their local.. The Derby has been the meeting place in the village for ever, for many generations How thoughtless that they just take it away without any discussion with the village.
