STOP THE PAINTING OVER OF OUR PAINTED "MOVING UP" BLOCKS!!!

I didn't go to Silver Creek or paint a block but my kids go to Silver Creek and they love the blocks

Leave the bricks, its what makes silver creek different

This was a right of passage, and provides a lasting history, a shared accomplishment. Don't erase the accomplishment!

These are great memories and I've enjoyed them for years they should be kept

Wow I can't believe that this is even a thought.

I have a brick, and while it is kind of lame, it was a big part of moving up in the world and the way Silver Creek students make themselves a name for the first time. I hate my brick, but I would never wanted it painted over because of what it stands for, and I don't think anyone else would want to lose their space in the school either.

I would really hate to see my kids blocks painted over, they want to show their kids !! Please don't wipe out memories !!!

Please don't paint over the artwork. I look at the blocks every time I am at the school. It's history for the school. Some of the kids that have painted the blocks have passed away and loved ones go to look every time they are at the school.

I would like to show my block to my children someday, the "Mark" I left on the walls of the school I attended my whole life. The same with my parents, aunts and uncles. There are generations. Why not keep the tradition going?!?

We did our bricks in pen and permanent pen so theyre fading to almost to nothing after 6 years!

Don't paint over our blocks! The blocks are a piece of the students that have attended the school! We take pride in the blocks we painted .

I painted a matching block with my best friend in 5th grade, which isn't too uncommon, so many students do. What is uncommon is the fact that she is no longer here. Katie died a few months after we painted those blocks, she is gone and now her block is going to be too. The walls of Silver Creek tell a story through the ages because of those blocks, don't take that away.

Painting my block was a right of passage. It was something I always looked forward to doing. This school doesn't need fresh clean white walls. It needs to continue to inspire kids to create and use the other side of their brain. These blocks are more than just our memories. They show a history and growth through generations of students. When so many schools are cutting art and the "extras" this a chance for Silver Creek to be proud that we still encourage the growth of these children as a whole, not just in the core subjects. Please see the bigger picture.
