STOP THE PAINTING OVER OF OUR PAINTED "MOVING UP" BLOCKS!!!

That's censorship

Don't paint over history, I love seeing my drawing on that block and all the others..don't destroy history..

This is such a unique thing SCCS does! Love showing my little ones their big brothers painted block!

I'm pretty sure the point of the kids doing that when they were younger was so that in later years they could come back and show their children and grandchildren what they did when they were in the school. They were supposed to be there for as long as the school stands not until someone (who probably didn't even go to school there, makes a decision to paint over them.

I strongly support this petition and you should too!!

My son completed his as a 5th grader at SCCS, and now he is an 11th grader and he still says " ma, remember when I did the painting on the walls at school?" To take away a visual memory of childhood is like taking away a big accomplishment in life." Why remove happy memories? Families enjoy coming to our halls and seeing all the work all children have done past present and look forward to the future. I have 2 other children that are looking forward to creating their own mark in the SCCS halls just like their big brother and other family members who attended SCCS. Traditions are a sense of pride.

Don't paint over the blocks. Don't erase our shared history.

One consistant layer of paint is worth more than the collective imaginations of young adults. You cant just take our efforts away like that.

Those have real sentimental value to the students who painted them

I love looking at them when I visit SCCS. They are a part of your culture and a source of belonging for all of those who have "made their mark"

I am in the class of 2021 so I painted my block 3 years ago. The school would look terrible and lifeless without the colorful blocks. It is a tradition that should be kept.

Painting over these blocks is equivalent to destroying history...not to mention love and memories! Don't do it!

Claaa of 2015. This was apart of my life growing up in elementary school I couldnt wait for the day to be up on that wall. I dreamed of the day to be able to make my mark. Painting over it will cause an uproar. There's nothing wrong with a school letting there students express them selves and they get the chance to makes them feel important. It was the most exciting thing about going forward in school. I feel that painting over it is a motion of disrespect and careless and the behalf of all silver creek alumni.

I remember painting my brick as a kid and to this day could still walk down that hall and pick it out. It was a day I looked forward to when I progressed to Jr high and I feel that every child present or future should be able to leave their imprint on this school for years to come the same way I and my fellow students once did.
