I don't plan on eating there 7-days a week, since I live so close. I don't want to pay $2,400 for food I won't eat. They should have a cheaper option that has a limit.

If they really want to cut down on take out containers, they should make OZZY boxes mandatory and fix the machines. Also they should make a cheaper plan for people that don't eat as much and know they wont be getting the full intentional value of the new basic plan. This cheaper plan should involve having only a certain amount of swipes per week, instead of unlimited. Or another option could be that the price for the plan remains the same, but you get a limited number of swipes per week plus the money value of the resident bucks of the next level plan. I was told by the lady who held a meeting about this plan that this would be a more fair way of running the dining system, but I feel it is the exact opposite. People who don't eat as much are paying for those who eat more and it is unbalanced as a result. I want to be paying for only the food I eat, not everyone else's.

We have to be realistic here. This plan is not going to benefit students at all. In addition, be aware of what's going on. We have until the 25th to renew our housing agreement, but there's an issue. If we renew our housing agreement, we may only know the price of housing but not of the actual dining plan. Students will be signing a contract that they are only aware of half of what it is stating whereas the other half would be unknown (and hidden) to them

I need the take-out option. I can't take time in a crowed diner to eat if I have a really busy schedule. It's not feasible. Please bring back the take-out option.

Today, March 2nd, 2016, I was in bed all day due to food poisoning from the diner chicken burgers. I filled an entire trashcan and must miss a lab, exam, and the Accenture innovative challenge because of my sickness. I have had food poisoning before, but this time was a whole new level!

If I could make a petition to counter this petition I would. UMD has been living in the past with their dining plans and this is a step in the right direction.

I NEED CARRY OUT TO FUNCTION. I dont have time to sit down and eat every meal in the diner. It will take too much time to set up my laptop, try to find an outlet to keep it charged. I wont be able to do any homework that would make it worth it. This semester, i have had carryout 90% of the time. Under this plan, i will not lose 15-20 minutes of my day I cant get back every time I go to eat

I like take out. It helps me have time to all the homework I have to do. Because I have to eat and study. Which is hard in a dining hall with not enough seating. If I can't eat and study, I can't get a good grade. If I don't get a good grade, I can't get a good job. If I can't get a good job, I can't pay off my college debt. UMD won't get their money. No one wins in this scenario.

After a long day of crying over school, I like to enjoy some of the country's worst food in the comfort of my bed. JUST LET ME HAVE THIS

We're college students. We rarely, if ever, have time to acrually sit down at the dining halls and eat our meals. Not having a solid to-go option is frustrating and encourages bad eating habits. Removing the terp bucks is also a horrible idea as students use that account on a daily basis at cafes when we don't have time to go to the diner, even to carry out, or just want a cup of coffee to get through a long night of studying. This plan may be good for large men who eat many meals a day, but for the average student it seems like a horrible step backwards.

WE NEED TAKEOUT! I don't care what other Big Ten schools do, at least let us use Ozzy boxes or I'm taking my money somewhere else. Also where in the world are we going to sit if there is no carry out? Even with the assumption that the Gazebo room, Stir-fry room and two additional split-level rooms are open it won't be enough. Just today during lunch, nearly all those rooms were open and people were still struggling to find a table for two. Administration, if you really think these changes should be made, I urge you to consider the intended and unintended consequences carefully.

I don't like that there are no Terp Bucks, because those are useful for things like paper towels and tissues that you usually can't get from a diner.
