Stop the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Laws

I oppose the by-law changes.

I do not support changes being made without proper research, notification and discussions taking place. Adoption of the prososed plans on February 20th needs to be delayed .

I strongly object to the proposed by-law changes for MNBP. The changes do not take into account the needs of the constituents. There is no one solution that encompasses the uniqueness of the individual properties.

Great to get my tax bill and Northern Bruce Peninsula February Newsletter and find that nothing is mentioned in this newsletter at all about the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw!!!!!!! Another note to share, in May of 2013 I went up to open up the cottage at #16 Little Point Road and hook up the water which we pumped from the lake and found the bay my cottage fronts on (betweeen Little Point Road and Purgatory Road) just full of green slime, any water that was in this bay was landlocked due to the low water levels, I had to immediately look at putting in a well of which I did. What good is a cottage if you have no running water or even a bay were you can dip a pail into get water. Now that we have some nice water levels for kayaking/boating your trying to take are land away from us or at least make it unusable. I do find it hard to believe that you are not getting in touch with all landowners In the NBP by mail as not all residents have access to online information or facebook or whatever. I do not have my own home computor and luckily I can go into my office of work and correspond to this.

I believe the proposed by-laws in M.N.B.P. do not consider the interests of all the parties involved. Appropriate balance is required between historical and future needs and with the current proposal for hazard mappings, setbacks and other core issues, these needs have not been addressed appropriately. Realizing that there is no single solution to this problem, good leaders learn how to moderate and get alignment across all parties especially when dealing with historical or contentious issues. A combination of factors is attributing to the issues with the proposed by-laws. A delay in passing these would suffice while the core issues are dealt with as a unified group rather than in isolation. I strongly object to the Comprehensive Zoning and Hazards Mapping that is being proposed as my needs as a property owner in M.N.B.P have not been met.

I strongly object to the proposed changes.

I say no to the NBP proposed hazards and comprehensive zoning by-laws. Any plan that will adversely affect the value or use of my private property now or in the future is not acceptable.

concerned about property values

I have just seen the latest proposed mapping for my property and IT IS STILL UNACCEPTABLE. What is being proposed will still negatively impact the value and use of my property, and it is based on ridiculous assumptions. The only change I will accept for my property is NO CHANGE: do not change the zoning for my property, do not add zoning to my property, and do not change the setbacks. Mr. Mayor and Council Members, you have the opportunity to do the right thing for the residents of NBP – take it.

As a 40 year seasonal property owner in Northern Bruce Peninsula , I am expressing my deep concerns and objections to the proposed Official Plan. I would hope that the municipal council we voted in to represent US, the tax paying constituents both seasonal and permanent, would realize the devastating effect private property owners will be facing. Do the right thing. I vote a strong NO.

The council has admitted to errors. Lets make sure before it is passed as it is too late after.

It was suggested by the government. It was not mandatory. Who are they to make a designation upon private property(not stated in the municipal act.) I think the Bio- Sphere people should be looking at what their property consists of. Also the professionals that are making these recommendations what are their qualifications to do so.

I strongly object to the Comprehensive Zoning and Hazards Mapping the M.N.B.P council is attempting to implement. As a life long resident, property and Business owner, i am very disappointed with my elected officials that are supposed to be looking out for my better interests. They are not! They are saying there has not been enough opposition to the proposed changes. Well, the buildings have not been big enough to let everyone in, so i think they have been well attended. The proposed changes will be detrimental to not only property owners, but the future of our community as a whole.It is clear more time is needed before everyone can understand the implications.As for putting a designation on my property Title...Absolutely NOT! I object to the comprehensive zoning as it will affect the future of the Peninsula. I feel the council is not protecting the people that voted them in.

I am absolutely and Strongly objecting to the Comprehensive Zoning and Hazard Mapping the Municipality is trying to implement. This is not only the future of my Private Property, but the future of the Entire Peninsula. This is my property, not the Provinces nor the Municipalities. It was my blood ,sweat and tears that went in to purchasing property that i now feel will not only be reduced in value, but unable to build an addition, or even a small shed. My elected officials on the M.N.B.P. council are totally rushing into something that i feel needs a Lawyer hired for them to fully understand the underlying implications. They are supposed to be looking out for my better interests! I do not feel this is the case here! The Provincial Government is making suggestions but they are not mandatory. I strongly object to the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Laws. I have attended 3 of the meetings that were to inform property owners of the proposed changes and judging by the responses to questions and feedback, it is clear more time is needed before final decisions can be made. The Provincial Government has made suggestions but they are not mandatory. I strongly disagree with any designation being put on the Property Title(not stated in the Municipal Act)

I object to the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Laws. More time needs to be given to inform property owners and receive feedback on these severe proposals. I don't agree with designations on Title it's against the Municipal Act.

Mayor McIver, Deputy Mayor Greig and Council, I am again voicing my objection to the proposed municipal plan for Northern Bruce Peninsula. We, your constituents, place our faith in you as our elected representatves, neighbors and friends, to respect the wishes of your many permanent and seasonal NBP residents. We have attended council meetings (many of us driving hundreds of miles) to raise our concerns and to object in both written and verbal format to the new municipal plan.
