Stop the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Laws

I am very disappointed that the Municipality allowed permits to be issued for new buildings if there was a problem almost 30 years ago.

We are in total disagreement with the proposed changes !!

We do not agree with the proposed by law changes. This process has not been fair or transparent by any means. We own property on the NBP and have yet to be notified of these proposed changes officially. Instead we learned of the September public meeting through a friend and we were not aware that there was another meeting in December despite requesting that we be given information. It is unfair that we receive our residential tax bill regularly however the council has not mailed out a single piece of information pertaining to these major changes. We are still unsure how our property will be impacted as the site maps and web page are unclear. This is unacceptable.

I am very disappointed that the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula are not listening to the people that pay the taxes here. I have a cottage here for a number of years now, inherited from my wife's grandparents that built it. We brought our kids up every year to enjoy what is all available to us, and hopefully looking forward for their kids to come up. Whether the lines affect the properties or not, EVERYONE is affected. Value will sharply go down and all the investments are gone! IS this the way you treat the people that voted for you?? Please re-think this proposal and decline it. I agree with Wayne Hay I have limited to no knowledge and I should have been informed via mail delivery. I am 100 % against these proposals

The entire process is flawed. The planners (and NBP staff, by association) have consistently provided incorrect, erroneous, and misleading information to the citizens. The so-called public consultation process is a sham. We are convinced that Council never intended to heed the wishes of the majority of the property owners. Shame, shame, shame on all the NBP politicians. Your political careers have ended.

What upsets me the most is that the Municipality sends out my taxes bills each year via the mail but I have not received anything from them concerning these proposals. If they intend to make changes as dramatic as these they should be required to notify all concerned by mail. If it wasn't for great neighbours we wouldn't have heard anything. Who would want to invest in this Community when they you tell you that your lot is zoned for building upon purchase and then change their minds.

we purchased our property so we can build our retirement home. Our friends are in the same area and we have planned for many years to be able to retire and enjoy the beauty of the Bruce Peninsula together. Now this may not be possible and what good is a piece of land that you can't build on and now could be worth next to nothing.

I feel that the hazard mapping has gone way over what is necessary.

We need to more time to allow property owners who are away for the season to be aware of what is happening in North Bruce Peninsula.

It is unfair to property owners to put these designations in place and could affect insurance and resale value.

Normand and Julie Martel do not agree with these proposed guidelines. If this goes through our 10 acre property is worthless. We will have PSW on almost half of it and will not be able to build our new home.

I've purchased two NBP vacant lots in the middle of the year 2016. Before buying, contacted the municipality and had confirmation of R2 zoning. Nobody mentioned about upcoming bylaw and zoning changes that could affect my lots. The turbulent 2017 (WRT zoning and bylaw proposals) year caused me already to change plans and sell one of the lots. I’m still contemplating if I should (or not) build a cottage in NBP where rules and regulations may change any time regardless of the view and rights of the property owners. The NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Law changes shall be stopped ASAP to protect existing and future properties on NBP.
