Stop the NBP Proposed Hazards and Comprehensive Zoning By-Laws

I very strongly object to these new bylaws. Please vote no on these changes.

I strongly object to this new set of comprehensive Bylaws. I have read the various revisions of the document, and personally attended three of the public meeting sessions. There are so many reasons that this is NOT in the best interest of property owners in NBP. To spell out all of the objections here would take hours, and pages to write ! Neither the Province or the Municipality should not be able to dictate provisions that change the use of OUR land that WE purchased. Please vote NO.

I fail to see the need to change the red line. I do not understand why it is being done other than to cause a lot of issues with our properties. I have spoken to many neighbours who are not in favour of it and do not see the reason for it being changed. Vote NO !

Concerned with maintaining value of property. New proposal may not allow me to sell undeveloped lot.

It is time that local property owners, INCLUDING SEASONAL PROPERTY OWNERS had more of a say in terms of issues like this that impact everyone. We vote, and YOU represent us!

Total disgust in the declining lack of support from local representatives over the last decade, on this and many other issues. So discouraging it might be time to get out and pay taxes somewhere else.

The proposed zoning bylaw is unfair to those of us who purchased property on the Bruce Peninsula to enjoy the peace and quiet. We have been here, living here, for 18 years . Many young families have become part of our community. They are now in a precarious position. For us, this change will shatter our future. we retired with a plan to upgrade the property and sell when appropriate. This would give us a significant contribution to the rest of our lives. Never ever crossed my mind that something like this could shatter our plans. I feel that the plan to implement these changes is ill-informed (council is not fully knowledgeable about the impact of these changes); sneaky (residents were not brought into the conversation from the beginning); unkind ( not giving full consideration to what it means to people, real people). No consideration was given to those of us who contribute to the municipality, care for the environment by managing our property; and electing what we thought were caring people because they are from here and understand what it means to be living in "God's country." If we can't sell, then we can't finish our lives in the way we planned. Not being maudlin but I am sure there are others that are in this terrifying position. More time is needed to discuss the options and make a community based decision. Council, be the heros and put this decision aside until you can be more informed of what this means to many real nice, caring people, and that these real nice caring constituents can be part of the decision. Please consider all these people that have expressed there concerns. It is so important .

The mayor and council were elected to represent the wishes of the residents of MNBP. Therefore they should not accept the proposed changes to the official plan. It is clear that the majority of the residents of MNBP do NOT approve of said changes.

We would like to very much like to oppose the acceptance of the proposed zoning and hazzard by-laws. It is clear by the turn outs and this petition that the home owners of the Bruce Peninsula do not want this and you should turn it down. Diane and Mike McNeil

I am strongly aposed to you moving forward with this plan. I live on a 10 meter cliff and your plan puts me in a flood zone. How rediculas is that. Our community has survived for over a hundred years without your intervention. There is no need to start now. Water levels go up and down and will continue after we are long gone.

Please do what you were elected to do represent the people of your community. This is an opportunity for you to stand up for what is right for your fellow citizens. If not we may have discovered another swamp that needs drained!

I object to the comprehensive zoning bylaw and hazard mapping as proposed by the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. Council should delay this vote until taxpayers can be better informed how this affects each property. I urge Council to postpone this decision, or better yet, vote NO.

Mayor and Council members of Northern Bruce Peninsula, you have the power to say NO to the proposed Comprehensive By-Laws and all associated Hazard Designations. You have the power to support your constituents, your friends, family and neighbours. JUST SAY NO!!! You need to do what is right, moral and ethical. These changes are devastating to MOST properties owners in this Municipality...not just a few but MOST. And, those who are not affected right now, will be when property assessments are lowered and taxes go up...and when next time Hazards are increased again and again. The Biosphere Association has no right nor authority to comment on private property...especially when their proponents have and continue to violate their own beliefs. Further more they have what they wanted yet want to stop others have having what they want. Hundreds and Hundreds of people have shown up to OPPOSE these plans (they didn't just come to hear Jack speak). Hundreds and Hundreds of people have sent in objection letters that have gone unanswered, dismissed or simply ignored. The speakers at the meetings HAVE been representing hundreds and hundreds of people...not just themselves. We will not relent. Next order of business, if this is adopted, is to remove all from council, and find others who support their constituents.
