I strongly oppose these new by-laws

I have serious concerns re: the devaluation of my property and/or considerable increases in my property home insurance fees with the proposed changes to the Official Plan. As retirees, we have invested (wisely, we thought) such that we would be financially secure in our remaining years and able to leave the property and home to our children. Can this be assured with the current proposal?? I think not!

We need new local government that work for the people. Not against them.

We object to the extreme proposed changes in the official plan amendment(s) and the resulting infringement of our individual property rights.

Consult with those involved. Meet with those impacted.

There could be a hidden agenda with Bruce County and NBP Councl as they seem to be more concerned about the pristine environment for the tourists than the taxpayer. Who is paying the bills? Who votes for the council members? Who pay the consultants and the associations who tell the council to protect the environment for the tourists and discourage the taxpayer from feeling proud of their home and land. There have been rumours for many years, over thirty years now that the powers that be are planning to make the Northern Bruce Peninsula a full National Park so why would the council and the associations work with the taxpayer after all the federal government can keep given parks Canada millions of dollars to continue to hire staff and bylaw officers to promote the National park to tourists. The Official Plan does nothing to promote harmony and security for the land owner. Northern Bruce Peninsula has a small population in comparison to any other municipality in Grey and Bruce Counties. Did no other group want the Northern Bruce Peninsula when almalgamation took place? How do 3,500 people sustain the amenities and the infrastructure needed to remain a viable community. Even Bruce County plans and gives less attention to Northern Bruce Peninsula taxpayers needs. I agree with a comment made earlier that the people of Northern Bruce Peninsula need to make their needs and ideas known to the council members because I overheard a councillor say he did not think the taxpayers had a clue as to what was taking place with the Official Plan and most taxpayers did not care about the Official Plan. I felt this was very disrespectful to the taxpayer and I hope this petition will let the council know that the taxpayers want a responsible government to listen to the taxpayers as landowners because we are not complaining just to complain, we are not criticizing the Official Plan because we like to complain. we are speaking up because we feel Northern Bruce Council that you are not lis

Are my taxes going down with the value of my property?

Large numbers of Northern Bruce Peninsula private property owners having attended three public meetings, filed numerous written objections as will as undertaken verbal presentations expressing their concerns and objections to the proposed Official Plan; will the municipal council realize the devastating effect private property owners will be facing? We have researched and understand the by-laws, it begs the question how can so many private property owners be wrong in their objections to the proposed Official Plan or is there a hidden agenda? Ignoring the will of the constituents would indicate a willingness by the Municipal council of the Northern Bruce Peninsula to validate a hidden agenda put forth by the Province, County of Bruce, Conservation Authority, Biosphere association, Parks Canada and other nontax paying entities. Just vote no and let us work together to find an acceptable Official Plan.

I object to the comprehensive zoning by-law and hazard mapping as drafted and direct that council of the municipality of northern Bruce Peninsula decline adoption of both and the proposed amendments to its Official Plan at this time.
