Former student, and children still enrolled.
A select few shouldn't be allowed to change our history.
Disappointed with the process.
We don't need a name change.

I am a former Kununurra District High School student. I attended KDHS for 8 years, give or take a few months. Recently it has come to my attention that there is a small group of people misrepresenting the education department in their zeal to change the name of the Kununurra District High School.
I have read on facebook the following so called facts (some of which contradict one another):
1) the education department wishes to rename the school to prevent the misconception that it is only a high school
2) the P & C wish to change the name to make it easier to attract future teaching staff
3) the P & C wish to rename the school to prevent confusing future student families and or teaching staff regarding the levels of education available at the school
4) the education department wish to rename it to recognise the local indigenous culture
5) the student council wish to rename it to include ot better recognise the diverse cultures represented in the student body
6) the education department are rebranding the school purely for the sake of it.
7) the list of proposed names for the school sent home with the current students did not have the option to keep the existing name.
And finally
No need to change it!
No need to change the name
Do not change it
