If Maryport is to commemorate HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, then renaming The Fairy Path is a ludicrous idea. Given the town’s naval tradition, a better memorial would be to support the next generation of sailors at Maryport’ Solway Sea Cadet Unit.

Been known as fairy path as long as I remember - I’m 69 and I presume longer. As it had a wishing gate- a round railing gate. Name something new in Prince Phillips memory.

I am a "royalist" and I object to it being named after Prince Philip...It is Maryport peoples choice to name it "The Fairy Path" and that's what it should stay, end of.....

Generations have walked this path including all my family Fairy Path it will always be. Change something else that isn't well used and loved by so many people. Young and older alike.
