After speaking to a Golden Gate Transit employee who lives in Novato, this person said, "In my opionion, I would never put this in Novato"

How could they jump from $900k to $5million without public discussions? Where were the traffic studies? The area is congested enough already and the crosswalk is unsafe. If the New Novato Station is anything like the one in San Rafael, you'd have to move it further north on Redwood where there is plenty of room and already a frontage road. This issue calls for much more public debate....what are the alternatives? Why was the original $900k plan discarded for the $5-million one?

Please fix the current bus stop now to handle current needs and safety issues. The money is ready and waiting. We do not need a San Rafael style bus station that will result in higher density and urban development in downtown Novato.

The San Rafael City Fathers totally changed the "feel" of the downtown area and not for the better. Please don't do this to novato!

Aside from the fact that there is no need, who is considering the 'tone' of our town? We already are facing the thought of the theatre with no parking, the deterioration of the West side of town, the empty Pini hardware site, the City Building and the Umpqua buildings sitting empty. Where is the parking to be? Also, how does this fit in with the proposed Smart Train depot? Are we trying to emulate Fourth and Heatherton and turn into a Hub, but alas, no longer a place anyone actually wants to live? Let's see some money spent on revitalizing our already broken down parts of town and not spend absurd amounts on a Hub which would be totally in opposition to the feel of our town. If more bus stops must be made, how about including something small in wit the consideration of the North Redwood Corridor nightmare? I am just amazed and appalled.

Given the stats from the MTA 2011 report, this idea to spend $5M for a high capacity bus station is beyond ridiculous.

Can't imagine why we need to spend $5M on a downtown bus stop. Most Novato bus users don't even use the downtown stop.

This City Council, like many in Marin, sees itself as part of a larger ABAG directed corporate organism, Plan Bay Area, etc. Have you noticed how many EMPTY Marin Transit buses are driving around Novato? The idea that empty buses avoid greenhouse gases is foolish. We need a City Council that reflects Novato, not one that mirrors ABAG. Please, organize, put up two people for the next City Council race. Steve Jordon will probably run, and he's honorable. I'm doing what I can, running for Senate.
