Count me among the many, many people who want to preserve the existing Minnehaha Parkway route for both drivers, non-motorized vehicles, and pedestrians.

The current Park Board shows no awareness of the tremendous legacy it has inherited, and of its stewardship responsibilities. Minnehaha Parkway is a civic gem unrivaled almost anywhere else. It is an amenity that greatly helps to attract, and retain, middle class families. A strong middle class base is essential to a strong city. Don't louse this up, folks!

Please leave Minnehaha Parkway unchanged at Lynnhurst, Nicollet and Portland. Preserve our historic parkway!

This whole plan to change the traffic on the Minnehaha Parkway is an example of bad urban design. Please do not implement the current plan.

Keep the parkway as is, it is working fine for all of us in the neighborhood. Why would you make things worse? This benefits no one.

If it aint broke don't fix it. I walk/drive/bike the Parkway daily and it is fine just the way it is. Whats wrong with these people that want to change for change's sake. If you want to do something meaningful focus on the buckthorn along the creek!!

I totally disagree with closing Minnehaha Parkway, that will send traffic into the neighborhood that will put the kids that bike from their homes to school, friends etc at more risk of cars that have been diverted. What on earth is the problem. I'm a biker and use the Parkway, I don't understand the problem that is trying to be solved by this plan. It is just plane crazy. Mary

That money is supposed to be CLEANING UP THE LAKES!

This seems to be an adhoc recommendation with no data or impetus to drive it. Driving around the little bump out at the Community Center ADDS to safety, as it slows people down and keeps people focused on the children and pedestrians nearby. There is absolutely no problem there. Diverting traffic down 50th and directly by Burroughs and Mt. Olivet -- for no reason -- is asking for meaningful traffic and safety issues. Interruption of the Parkway at various places -- as is being recommended -- seemed to come out of nowhere and has no measurable upside. The Parkboard should make certain crosswalks and intersections more visible with signage and lighting, if that is desired. But, there is no evidence that a major disruption along the Parkway at any point is necessary. Please try the logical step first. And, please don't just continue along with this plan because it was drawn up. Listen to the people you serve.

Please keep the bridge next to Burroughs school. Families leaving the school need to turn right on 50th St W, and without this bridge we have no way home except circling a block to head back the other way on 50th St.

crazy ideas. james AND nicollet reroutes. will do nothing but cause accidents at nicollet and the parkway, and undeserved traffic congestion on James .

It seems like there are more and more projects and decisions that don’t make sense in Minneapolis. Does the board have money that they just lose if they don’t spend it? This is a project that there isn’t a reason for. I’d like to see the board work with the citizens, visitors and nature of Minneapolis and not against. Lets do things that make sense and if they don’t make sense, don’t do them.

PLEASE, PLEASE Leave the existing northbound W. Minnehaha Parkway south of Minnehaha creek “as-is” from W.51st St to W. 50th St.

This seems like an ill-conceived idea. My father still lives on 53rd & Knox and walks all over the neighborhood several times a day. As he ages, I can't help but worry about him being struck by a car. Please listen to your constituents in this matter and do NOT go forward with this plan.
