This shouldnt even be brought up for discussion you do not disturb the dead for comestic reasoning and i think its a damn shame you cant even have the right to rest in peace. Leave the headstone alone let this family mourn.

If the policy is there for ease of maintenance surely the current headstone and surround should prove a better option than grass. This is in memory of a loved one and so many years have past let the family grieve and remember him how they wish. This headstone is doing no harm to anyone but asking to remove it does. Really hope the council cops on far more pressing matters require their attention rather than fighting this out with a family who have lost their loved one

Is this the next of it fines really!! Leave this grieving family alone. It doesn't matter if it's 6 days, 6months or 6 years leave them in peace. And if you think because it's the travelling community that nothing will be said your wrong. Everybody has the right to display their affection and grief on there own plot. Equality for ALL.

As a guardian of a child who is very ill it would hurt my heart having to remove my loved ones headstone after these years. They council need to rethink the whole £80 for planning permission. Using the recently passed as a ploy to take money from the vulnerable is disgusting. I think that should be more focused on. Funerals and headstones cost enough without the council adding on silly fees. I will personally attend a protest if that's what's needed. No mother should have to go threw this. The death alone aches her heart everyday. Disgusting behaviour from the council

This needs to be resolved by the case being dropped against this poor family. They have endured far too much loss to be forced to carry out such a request by the council. The council needs to be aware that it’s causing unnecessary suffering and harm to this family and retract its instruction immediately. It’s cruel and unnecessary, and a violation against a minority group of people. To continue with such a demand would not only cause unmeasurable stress for this family but it also discriminates against this family. They have a legal right to worship their dead and not law exists to define that in view of religious freedoms. Please, I urge the council to retract and drop this cruel motion immediately.
