My daughter started the 2013-2014 begining of the 4th quarter school year, since then she has buded, bloom and blossomed in a beautiful little girl, her attitude has been so up lifting, that it made me more content and less worried about her education. The Duval County School Board is only concerned about FACT testing and their scores, my daughter has a problem with comprehension,and I spoke with them about this when my daughter started school in kindergarten, at the time her teacher told me that a lot of things matter first before she could be tested, 1: her grades has to show signs of falling and she made honor roll so no help there, when ny daughter went to 1st grade the teacher noticed signs right away, they put her n this class which is called LLI, she passed the class but still showed signs of struggle the teacher stated, still was trying to get daughter help, when she got n 2nd grade teacher tired but wasn't good enough kept taking daughter case to the school team, no results their, then 3rd grade came and that's when they brought n ESE advisory, teachers , guidance counselors trying to put her in ESE, but by that time I as the parent was already in motion to move her in private school. The reason is they waited until my daughter started to fail to really started to care which didn't make since at the time, but now it does!!!! It's all about money, see every child that's ESE the school gets money so they wanted to wait for my child to fall n that category ,but I as her loving mother and supporter I was not going to let that happen!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

It is such a blessing to be able to provide my daughters with a chance for better wake education, that i dont want to think what would if be of them without the scholarship, please dont take it away, it really help us, and the people who strugle every day with the bad economy and lack of good jobs. Please be kind and understanding, we will eternally be thankful to you.

Step Up For Students has been a blessing for us and our family going on 8 years now. If not for SUFS, we could not send our 3 children to The Donahue Academy at Ave Maria here in SW Florida. We will not just as a family, but as a community of Parents look for a way to keep Our choice of education open and give Our children the best schooling to prepare them to become Great Pillars of Our Community. Because let's face it, they are our future caretakers. Would you want them to take away your Social Security benefits in the future? I think not.

My daughter goes to a private school because of this funding. If it was not for this help she would be going to a poor education school system in my area. She is highly intelligent and strives in her environment. I hope this nonsense stops.

Step Up For Students provides a choice for low-income families that cannot afford the opportunity to go to a private school. Why shouldn't parent have a choice where their child goes to school?

My daughter loves her school and it is so right for her. Her class size is 10 where would she have that in public school? She also says the pledge and has prayer with Bible class I want this for her. She has electives that gibe her piano, art and dance in the afternoons that is not offered with public school. She is excelling in all areas. Being in her school allows her to stay in the same school from K-12 making friends for a lifetime and no busing!

This will help my special needs son have a chance to live fairly normal as an adult. Its financially hard to raise a special needs child. We need the help.

The public school system is broken!! and like parents we have right to put our childen in private school. Thanks to Step Up For Students, we can do it!!! STOP THE LAWSUIT!!!!

The PTA does not represent the views of all parents. The FSBA is simply fighting to retain their relevance in a time when freedom to choose is helping to provide better education for children who would otherwise have only one choice for the school they attend. Those who support these scholarship programs are tax payers as well.

With this progam, parents have the choice not imaginary lines. I chose a private school that doesn't allow bullying, but is also geared to my individual child's learning pace.
