Our family has 3 children that are benefiting from Step Up for Students. I appreciate that they are thriving in a good private school, where they struggled in public school. Me and my husband are products of public school and believe in it completely - but we also realize that it's not for everyone. Public school should not be only for the rich. It should also be for those who need THAT particular environment.

My son, Joseph, has Down Syndrome and atteneded public school four years. His last year there the class was crowded and children's special needs were vastly different, making it impossible for the children to receive an appropriate education. He has now qulaified for the Step up for Students Scholarship which we allow him to attend a private school more suited to his special needs.

My children & I are very thankful for the opportunity to have the Step up for Students in our lives, without them & the loving ones who sponsor i don't know what I would've done.y My 3 children they have excelled beyond than what i could have some expected. I love the relationship we've have with our schoo. Please don't take that away from my children.

Everyone has a preference on public or private school. It is your right to have that opinion but it is not your right to take away my choice of WHERE I WAN’T my child to be taught. Taking away this scholarship will do exactly that. This program has been such a blessing to not just my daughter but to us as parents as well. If the concern is whether or not the children are learning then let me give you a little insight. My daughter comes home everyday telling me what she can spell now and what word blends are. She is learning regardless of it being in a public or private setting, what school I choose is absolutely irrelevant. Please don't take this away from us. My daughter has a school that is not just a school but a community of people who truly love and care for her well being. Public schools has lost sight of such things. Her school protects her innocents and pushes her to learn and do things that she didn't know she could do and if the people who are wielding this lawsuit could see how much she is learning and how a child lights up when they get it, they wouldn't be worrying about if it was in a private or public school setting. They would just be speechless. Before you decide to move forward with this, please listen to a mother who’s child is flourishing and loves her school.

This has helped my son by getting an education that he deserves, one that I could not afford. The Public School system in my area are not only subpar when it comes to education but there are bullying issues and thankfully that is not the case in private school We are truly blessed to be able to have Step UP!

Let the poorer children have a choice too. Private schools, a great education, smaller classes and religious freedom should be for all children, not just the children who have parents that have enough money to pay. I taught in the public schools for 37 years and they have changed so much that I do not want my grandchildren subjected to that! These scholarships give them a chance for a quality education! If the public schools can't get the job done, at least give someone else a chance to show what can be done!!!

I love Step Up For Students. They have helped my kids to get a better chance at a good education in private school rather in public school which is engulfed with Common Core.

The Florida Public School system is broken, They continually pass the blame to parents when children are failing. Althoug education starts in the home these schools pass studentys that are failing. Since my children received these scholarships they are loving school and are showing improvement. It is horrible that these individuals are pushing for this, do they have any shame?
