Stop The Lawsuit Against Florida's Tax Credit Scholarships (Step Up For Students)

Thumbs up for the scholarship program. There should be more, not less.

This program is an amazing opportunity for low income students to get an amazing education. Please don't let our babies down.

Step up for students, helps me offer my kid a good education, as a single mom with no support from the other side I would never be able to afford it.

I am a concern parent that will do the best that I can to support the program.

I support this petition 100% I do not think other organizations have the right to try to stop parents for seeking the best education for their children.

This scholarship is a huge help for me and my family! We as a family had adopted two children we had not planned on adopting! Although they have been a complete blessing to us, so had Step up for Students - it has given these children opportunities they would never have been able to have!

Stop the lawsuit

The Step up for Students Scholarship saved my daughter's education. She had been bullied in public school and went to counseling for an entire year before I asked the counselor if perhaps we were asking what was wrong with my daughter (withdrawn, depressed) when we should have been asking what was wrong with the school. The counselor was able to get her evaluated by a psychiatrist who stated emphatically after one evaluation with her and with me separately and together that her behavior was typical textbook of having been bullied in school and recommended that I change her school; that every time she was in the hallway or cafeteria the fear of running into the "bully" was re-activated. I pulled her out that day and put her in the nearest charter school. She is a straight A student and I can never thank SUFS enough for enabling this transfer. I NEVER could have afforded it any other way. My daughter has remained in the same school now from 3rd grade and is currently in 7th, just re-applied for 8th grade. In high school we'll try public options again, but for these difficult years, she has blossomed in an environment where she feels safe and is thriving. The public school teacher and principal are no longer at her old k-5 school, and I since found out that the "guidance counselor" there had no credentials. Education is of PRIMARY importance to me, and I believe that every child that WANTS to learn, TRIES to learn and has at least one parent that is WILLING to put the effort in to help teach them (because we all know that education begins at home) should have the opportunity to learn. Please don't take SUFS away...........

Step up for students has to continue. We need ti support our kids. Childten are the future of this Nation.

It is absurd that these groups who are to help further children's education would only want to hurt these same children where it is needed most.

A lawsuit against lower costs to the public, parental choice for their children, and a superior educational opportunity for our kids... doesn't make any sense does it?

We need to protect this scholarship, because our children need to grow with a good foundations for the future of this country

Private schools that use the Step Up scholarship are a bargain for the Public School System. They function with a fraction of the funds the public school system receive and still provide a high quality level of education to the community.

The scholarship program is awesome and it helps a lot of us parents out a great big deal. Hate to see it get taken away.

My children are really benefiting from their private education. They are receiving much more attention and academic help in a smaller setting than they would in a public school setting. I also value the wholesome friendships and positive influences they are getting in their learning environment. I am very thankful I have this option for my children, and appreciate the financial assistance that my husband and I would otherwise not be able to afford. We are extremely grateful to send our children to a private institution through Step Up for Students scholarships.

Drop the lawsuit! Our child, Our choice! Florida School Board Association needs to remember whom they serve, the people of Florida not teachers unions.
