Stop The Lawsuit Against Florida's Tax Credit Scholarships (Step Up For Students)

This is an essential INVESTMENT in the future of the entire State of Florida. There is no better investment than a child's education. Every study of these matters points to their success. To abort it would be tantamount to criminal, in my opinion.

I don't understand this petition. Who are we petitioning? A law suit will be judged in a court of law, and however we feel about that a petition isn't going to be evidence in a law suit. The legal decision will be determined based on legal arguments. Being that the contributors to the scholarship program are getting a direct one-for-one dollar-for-dollar reduction in their tax bill for contributing to the scholarship program, there is a strong argument that tax dollars are being diverted into this program. I fear that the only way to win this lawsuit is to amend the state constitution to allow tax dollars to go to religious organizations (which most of the scholarship schools are.) Perhaps a petition to add an amendment to the state constitution would be effective. I can't see what this petition would do or who it is aimed at.

The scholarship is very important to keep for our children. It allows them to have more one on one time with their teachers. My son was not able to read very well in public school, he is now on step up for students he's now reading very well in the first grade and Showing lots of improvements not to mention but a fact that he is writing in cursive. Please continue the program.

Without this Scholarship my son would not be able to get the education he deserves.

I am a teacher and have seen the good this has done. I have been able to give help to students who have fallen through the cracks of the public system. Please keep it going.

Thanks to Step Up for Students my daughter has been able to attend Deltona Christian School and in less than 2 months into Kindergarten has learned to read!

Most of these scholarships assist minorities. It would be a travesty to take away school choice from thousands of these students whose families have found better choices for their children.

This scholarship allowed my daughter to continue school. I was displaced with employment and now a full time nursing student. I understand this is temporary help for me and appreciate the opportunity it lends my daughter.

Please please keep this scholarship available to the children. I have two that benefit from it and I can't begin to explain what it has meant to my children and our family. A huge blessing we don't want to lose.Thank you!

This is the best opportunity parents have to decide what is the best option for their child's education.

Step Up for Students allows families with limited financial resources the ability to make educational choice for their children. This empowers parents and gives them the opportunity to choose a school that is responsive to them.

This program has afraid this single mother the opportunity to send her child to a great private school. She has flourished there academically, socially and spiritually. I happily sign this petition.

My daughter was able to attend a school that met her needs because of this scholarship. She is a high school graduate because of this. If it wasn't for Step Up for Students this would have never been possible.

This scholarship has changed my kids lives. Thank you to all who make that happen!

My child is doing great in her school due to this scholarship, it's a blessing for my child to attend to a great and awesome school which each child learns in their own pace. I pray for this and I know God is in control.
