I am a single mother and an early childhood educator. It means so much to me that I can send my children to the Catholic school that I attended growing up. Step Up has such a positive impact on our lives.

The scholarships are helpful to students who need a choice for education, there is no one size that fits all students.

We need this scholarship as a means to balance the educational opportunities for our children. Florida as a whole has not met our expectations in creating a sound Educational program. From a failed FCAT, in cutting spending and being one of the lowest systems in the country is not something to be proud of. It appears that the schools doing well are in more affluent communities or have been re-zoned to accommodate special interest. Step-up has given us the opportunity for our children to compete, while saving the county monies, not adding to the overcrowding of schools and it is more economical to outsource. There is no difference between step-up and charter schools, they both achieve the same goals.

Ending this would hurt only poor children. Give them a chance to succeed. Please expand "Step up for Students", do not end it.

Parents should have the right to choose education options for their children. This Scholarship gave me a voice for children when I felt I was without one with the public school system and the situation at the time.

Let the parents have the right to choose. These scholarships give students, who could not otherwise do it, function in a smaller environment. There is a need for both systems!!!!

I am an administrator of a school and can testify that Step Up helps the student and changes the entire family. Parental involvement is required in our school and families are being strengthened daily.

This scholarship allows so many students to excel in their own way. The program helps students in the environment they want to be in not where they have to be; where they could possibly fall behind.

This program is wonderful and very helpful. It gives us parents that may struggle financially the opportunity to send our children to a school of choice and comfort rather that being forced to send them to zoned schools because of our lower income! We would hate to see this wonderful opportunity come to and end. It's doing so much good in the community.....some people hate to see a good thing taking place.!.!.

To Whom It May Concern, My daughter is a kindergartner at Sonrise Christian School and is also a recipient of the Step-up-for-Student scholarship. With out this increditble gift, my daughter would not be getting this excellent, Christion based education. This scholarship allows my daughter the opportunity to be enriched both educationally and spiritually; an opportunity not offered, infact, governed against in the public school system. With out this scholarship, my daughter would just be another student in a 20+ pupil classroom. At Sonrise, my child is 1 of 10; she is enriched daily with both the fruit of knowledge and of the spirit. While I understand the scholarship is a temporary financial substitute, I beg you to reconsider the revocation the this scholarship as it is my responsibilty as a parent to provide my daughter with what education I feel is most beneficial to her. I appreciate your time and the chance to voice my opinions on this matter. Sincerely, Jessica Davis

Isn't education about children and meeting their educational needs? To take way this scholarship money is to discriminate against families with lower incomes!!! These wonderful families and their children LOVE having a choice. Shame on public school teachers, parents, and administrators to attack these students,

Students need other options beside public schools that are run poorly by Mr Seymour at a Olso Middle School indian river county.

The program is very important to people who cannot get what they need in the public school system.

This scholarship is a blessing to low income families. We all need to join in the fight to keep it.

Never has the poor families have the unique opportunity to pick a school that fits the needs of its children and offer them a better and brighter future. No government official could ever know what's best for someone's children other than their parents.

My children would be lost in the public school system with no chance for reaching their full potential had it not been for the step up for student scholarship. Claiming it will never be stopped, In JESUS' name!
